Rest in Peace F6BEE Ernie ….

Some of us had the great privilege of meeting Ernie and Lynn last year at the Rally. Ernie was the creator of the glossed over badges that went beneath the ignition. He was a fellow Rider for many years and manufactured several parts for Valkyries and also the Rune.

He was a very strong and proud F6B Rider, I knew that Ernie was very ill since September of 2013 and he asked that I not share that with the board, we kept in touch over the next few months as he went through chemo therapy. He had a large battle ahead of him with cancer and unfortunately we lost Ernie June 24th 2014 at the YOUNG age of 61. Lynn his sweetheart called me tonight to let me know the devastating news and asked that I share this with everyone since he truly enjoyed our board for the short time that he was on here.

His funeral procession consisted of 30 motorcycles with his son-in-law leading the pack on Ernies Red F6B.

Rest In Peace my friend, you will be missed.

A heart of sorrow for us all, especially those that loved him. It reminds me of the word's of Wise King Solomon, " It is better to go to the house of mourning (funerals) than the house of feasting (Banquets), for THAT IS THE END OF ALL MEN and THE LIVING WILL LAY IT TO HIS HEART". Eccl. 7:2

In other words, when we see our loved ones and friends laid to rest, it makes us think about how we are living our lives. We should be ENJOYING it !

Earlier, the same wise man said, " There is nothing better than for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that HE SHOULD MAKE HIS SOUL ENJOY GOOD IN HIS LABOUR........." Eccl:2:24

In other words, we work so we should ENJOY the fruits of our labor.

King Solomon wasn't promoting a self-centered, hedonistic lifestyle for us. He was just reminding us that we should enjoy our lives and the time we have here with those we love because we never know when our life (or theirs) is going to end.

I went to my friend's funeral 2 weeks ago. Tim Simmons was an avid off-road motorcyclist and the epitome of health at age 61, regularly competing in "Hare Scrambles". He finally broke down and bought himself a new Kawasaki "Green-Machine" off-road bike. He was thrilled with it's speed and power. 2 weeks later he noticed a lump under his chin. He went to the doctor. It was CANCER. Further tests showed he was eat up with it. 6 weeks later, he was laid to rest.

.............then I went out and bought my FB6.

My prayers and condolences to Ernie and his family.

Hi everyone, this is Lynn

Thank you to all for your heart warming posts. I know Ernie is smiling from up above. We had many years of wonderful adventures and there was never a dull moment. He rode bikes for over 40 years, but once he found the F6B, he never looked back. He really loved that bike.

I will miss the rally this year, but we had a wonderful time last year and met many new friends. I hope all of you can make it. You won't be sorry. It is a great time.

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart - the friendships made through motorcycles are the best!
Lynn

Ride in Peace, Ernie...

His destination is our own, and in just a wink of cosmic time. That thought came home to me as my family stood around the gravesite of a beloved family member a few months back. I remembered all of the older ones from when I was a kid; they were the "big people" back then, so strong and invulnerable, and now they were aging and gray. My own dad, now 76, stood next to me. And I realized then, as I took in the Oregon hills around us, that we would all be in a place like this one day. Not far away for some of us. Such is the way of life. Death begins the next adventure for the departed, while we here soldier on.

Lynn, so sorry for the loss of your traveling companion. He sounds like a great guy.
