I just got a ridiculous quote from my insurance company for this bike. I'm paying around $250 per year for an 07 m109r with $3,000 in additional aftermarket parts insurance. I am 41 with no tickets or accidents for a long time. I know a lot depends on retail value, age, record, and where you live but I just got quoted $800 a year?! :icon_doh: Seems very high to me. I am going to do some shopping around. I have been with Nationwide for over 20 years. Anyone have some insight or information that might help? Thanks, Mike.

I use Progressive, I dumped Nationwide after being with them for about the same amount of time due to cost and coverage.

Full coverage, waiver of depreciation for first 3 years, full medical, life insurance and 2 million third party liability. $852 per year.
Ya gotta love Canada. The most expensive insurance in the free world.

They are charging you Goldwing rates....tell them so and or wait until they ( insurance com ) come out with rate for the F6B....and then go to the lower rate....I pay $86 every 6 months for my Rune and Ultra...not sure about the F6B.....think it was around $500 per year but they did not have a rate for the F6B as of then.....

My State Farm lady was baffled, so I am still getting charged HD rates.

Nationwide rate for NE Pa. is $503 per year. My Brother-in-Law, who live 20 miles from me, has a regular Goldwing insured with Nationwide and his rate is over $800 per year:shock:

First post on the forum, I picked up my black deluxe this week adn Geico quoted me $440 a year. I do have two bikes with them and I am not sure if this makes a difference. Total for the F6B and the VRod is $660.

On insurance, there's a lot of variability on where you live, how crowded it is, whether your state is a helmet law state (rates are somewhat lower in that case). That's why they always ask for your zip code when providing a quote.

I just paid my Progressive for the year, and out here in California I have to pay $1,350. The 650 Yamaha V-star is $405 for 12 months.

Now I AM going to call them to verify that this is an F6B, not a GW tomorrow. Thanks for the head's up on that.

It costs me more to insure my trike than it does to insure my new Audi S5 Coupe!! It's worth at least half the value of the car, but I think they just pull the numbers out of a hat. My renewal is in Aug, but I'll be doing a lot more searching when it comes to buy some new insurance. "ccsmiley"

I pay about $565 a year in Michigan with State Farm....It is next to impossible to determine quotes on this site because there are just too many variables from location to location...Driving record, age, population in area, credit rating BS, and such...Insurance companies are for the most part, just big "rip-offs" making huge profits and rates are all over the map!!!!

I had Progressive but when I went to change my coverage from the Road Star to the F6B, I was told I would have to pay an additional $330.00 per year. That put me up around $880.00. 61 years old with no accidents on any vehicle. I switched to Geico and got a yearly rate of $581.00 but I noticed my policy went from 100/300,000 to 30/60,000.00.

300,000 COMBINED single limit liability, 300,000 combined single limit uninsured and underinsured, comprehensive and collision with disappearing deductible, no accidents etc, $1075/year, Progressive.
I have an expensive policy. The price went up 500/year when I sold the Harley dyna and bought the F6B.

insurance costs can't be compared without knowing how much insurance you are buying.
