Hey guys just wondering what you guys are paying to insure your machine or multi bikes ... just my 2013 F6B is $320 a year thru Formost .
Full coverage on all the bikes 5 is my amount ... Most expensive is a 2013 Vmax at $420 .
All 5 of my bikes is $1300 ... That hurts because most of the bikes sit for 5 months thru the winter , I usually ride the enduros in the winter , easyer to clean the road salt off .
I may try and shop it to my auto and homeowner which is State Farm not thinking they will beat it .
Last time I tried to use allstate combined auto and home owners they came back with a insain amount .
Who are you guys using ?

State Farm is like $430 for full coverage, $250 deductible for me on the F6B.

When I shopped around a few years ago Geico was the cheapest I could find....right at $400 a year.

I was at 1000 last year and had a FZ1 in place of the F6B . This up coming year was a increase , when I added the F6B was a decrease in the policy this current year .
Looking at the units individually the numbers don't look so bad except for the Vmax .

Depends on where you live and the various laws in your state...I pay about $560 a year with State Farm in Michigan, similar bike in Oklahoma is $350 year...It is impossible to compare apples with oranges (insurance costs) as they are all over the "map" so to speak..Maybe it is time to trim the heard a little or just "pay the piper".....

You would think with more than one bike you would pay less for the others.

You guys are lucky. We get raped in Manitoba. Full coverage costs me $1400 a year. No accidents and full merits. Gotta pay if ya want to play. No options either cause it's government run insurance nothing private. http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae351/JeffsAero/20140819_120342_zpstwhomtpe.jpg (http://s987.photobucket.com/user/JeffsAero/media/20140819_120342_zpstwhomtpe.jpg.html)

I spent a little more than 15 minutes and saved over 50% when I switched to Geico:icon_lol: True story though. I had Full coverage on my Valkyrie through Progressive, when I went to add the F6B, Progressive tried to clown me. Geico was a third the cost. I know it varies a lot from location to location though.

Be careful how you compare things. "Full Coverage" is not a policy term, it can mean many things to different people. Med Pay, Uninsured Motorist, towing, replacement value vs actual cash value. There are many variables and all add to the cost. In most instances buying vehicle insurance is like ordering off the ala carte menu. You want salad? Cost extra. You want a vegetable? Cost extra.

The best way to buy insurance is to determine what you need and quote just those coverages with competing companies.

I live on the central coast of Calif. :beach:and use Progressive West insurance for my MCs, I've used them on all my MCs for over 25 years(never had MC insurance before that).:301:
I have never needed to file a claim...yet, so I can't say how their service is, but they are sure fast at taking my "ccsmiley"
Full 100% coverage, uninsured/underinsured motorist, $100K med, full replacement value on my 2013 F6B & 2004 Rune with a $5K accessory allowance on both(pays up to $5K for custom parts).bling-bling
I only have the Calif. state required PLPD on my 2002 VTX1800, 2003 VTX1800 and last but not lest 2009 KLR650...'motorcycle-rider4;
Total, $785 a year and I am happy with that.:clap2:
Oh and no tickets since 2002(they ain't:cop2:me lately).

I had my policy and coverage in hand when I talked to Geico. I actually got more coverage for the savings I got.

$350 a year through Allstate. But I have my truck and wife's truck and homeowners through them. So you get discounts on the policies.

I don't recall what I'm paying through Progressive, but I do know it costs me $70 more per year to insure the F6B than it did my Harley Heritage. Bigger motor ups the insurance. I do need to get a quote from Allstate since I have my auto and homeowners with them now.

Check dairyland insurance. Not available in every state covered riding in them though.
They have some unbelievable coverages like if you had superbowl tickets and broke down they put you up hotel, food and reimburse you for the tickets. Ect........ not that much more money but you get what you pay for.
also make sure YOU are covered statefarm does not cover you I had to pay for emergency room out of pocket. Insurance is a joke but what else can you do no-body asks for an accident!

It looks like I need to do some shopping
$411 with deductible with state farm for the F6b
$245 for my daughters 08 shadow
$199 for my 97 Valk standard
$1,000 deductible with all
100K/300K medical

$480 a year on the F6B and my 2000 Valkyrie. $500 deductible. $5000 on accessories each bike no deductible., plus Emergency Road side

I was paying that for the Valkyrie through Progressive, and when I called to add the F6B, they were talking like $1150 or something for it alone.:icon_doh:
Like I said , they were trying to clown me.

Six months is right. I don't know how many times I have ridden to work this summer and the temperature was in the 40's. Sometimes low 40's at that.

USAA doesn't insure bikes in Ohio, so they have a agreement with Progressive.

A USAA Progressive rep insured both my Tour bikes (F6B & VL800) for $358 a yr. full coverage.

$100 ded. on the VL800

$300 ded. on the F6B...........discount for USAA membership, multi bike, home owners, paid in full.

US Military veterans cant go wrong dealing thru USAA... big discounts

Also I often insure my small bikes (& my buell) thru progressive - Liability Only for $75 a year...

Cancel the bikes during the winter when you're not using them. Renew in the Spring.

Watch how fast your Ins. Co. comes up with a better deal for you.

Alternatively, since you can't ride all 5 bikes at once, cancel the ones you're not using, or carry only 'comp' on them like collector bikes.
Activate liability when you plan to ride them.

Getting the same rate in Oregon from Geico. Likely the same reason - most folks park it in the wet winter. BTW, did not know there was an Oregon, WI!

Can't tell you my premium right now (to lazy to check). But I insure thru AARP (Hartford) on all my vehicles. Bought the F6 and they were to high. Checked around and went with Dairyland, who I haven't used in years, but better deal, and that's who I am with right now. I am a veteran and have tried USAA more than once and they are always to high. I am old, good credit, no accidents and no tickets.

In Michigan, it's a one year policy, I got three quotes and canceling a policy in the winter months won't get you a refund.
They either want 100% up front, or they will break it down into two payments, the second one due within 30 days.
I'm gonna do a bit more due diligence before next spring.
I was with Progressive for over 30 years, my policy on an older BMW was only $225.00 for full coverage, when I got the F6B, they quoted me $1,200.00, so I went to State Farm for $480.00.
And I have a clean driving record!!

We also have a year renewal , I was thinking of just doing the liabilty till next may and just have them add the full coverage .
My homeowners covers the bikes at my house in the off season . I would be prorated on the 5 months might not be a bad idea .

I was surprised when Progressive wanted $800/year for just the F6B. I was paying under $300 for the bikes listed in my signature. After a few calls back and forth with my agent, she told me that my 21 yr old son was the reason that my insureance went up. Long story short, my son is now only insured for the 1998 Suzuki GS500e and my wife and I are both insured on all of the bikes. $445/per year for all four bikes!

Broken down like this:

2008 Suzuki B-King 1340cc --- $55/yr
2013 Honda F6B 1832cc ------ $352/yr
2001 Yamaha xv250 Virago --- $15/yr
1998 Suzuki GS500e ---------- $23/yr

I think that Progressive has been very kind to me over the years. Maybe it is just that my agent works hard to try and get me the best rate. Dunno, I am happy with Progressive in Pennsylvania.

Contacted Foremost and they said no problem droped the the policy down my renewal is in October .... Saved my self 6 months of insurance on the bikes I will not be using during the winter .
I will keep the enduro fully covered just because its a 2014 ... its a dirt bike outside of being stolen or being hit by un insured moterist ... thats my winter machine if its not to cold out .
I'm down to 300 on all my machines ... I will bring up all the limits in the spring and save my self some dough on the bikes I'm not riding .

Here in North Carolina I believe I am paying $640.00 for 30,000.00/60,000.00 coverage. I hate paying that much but it is the cheapest I found. Another thing I found out that I hate is the fact that they also use your credit score in determining your yearly rate. I do not like that!

I just got of the phone with Allstate and they quoted me $272 per year with a $500 deductible on my F6B. That includes replacing the F6B with a new bike if it's totaled and it also includes hotel and rental car if I breakdown during a trip. I have my home/auto with Allstate so I got a discount for multiple policies.

Use to have Progressive for my bikes, but will be saving a couple hundred switching to Allstate. When I had multiple bikes Progressive was reasonable since they provided a multi-bike discount, but I just sold my Harley so am down to just the F6B. Literally cut my policy in half by switching. It definitely pays to shop around especially when your circumstances change.

I'm getting hosed by Progressive, I need to start shopping around. I was paying almost 1000 I raised the deductible super high and that only got me to 726 for the year. We get good rates for our car through them but the bike is killing me. I don't have anything on my record either.

Nationwide is $330 for the B and $290 for the M109R. I shop every year. That's the best I can do.

Progressive through USAA wanted 1600 and Geico wanted 680 for the same coverage. I am 52, married and a spotless driving record so I do not understand the huge difference.

I have been happy with the Gecko so far.

I wonder if southern states where you can ride all year have different rates than northern states. That would make sense

I've found by shopping around that different Insurers will juggle the conditions to get the business.

My 'situation' meant that I had to start from scratch.

I'm also in Australia. Insure My Ride which advertises heavily in bike mags quoted me $1,800 for comprehensive insurance.

Swann Insurance quotes $651, but with a $2,500 excess on any claims which will reduce 'greatly' after a year.

Seeing as how my riding will be leisurely and not in the City, I've opted for the Swann Insurance and I'll just have to be super duper careful for that first year......touching head.

A bit like gambling I suppose, if you can't afford to lose it don't do it.

I've been with GIECO for 19 years. Both scoots together are $345. $230 for the BEE, $115 for the VTX. both full coverage, both $250 deductible. Washington is classified as a partial ride state. Hmmm, they don't know me I guess.
