The Microtel is taking reservations. I've made mine as have several others. I would call them now, as I expect next years rally to have more attendees.

Arriving Thursday September 3rd, riding on the 4th, 5th, 6th departing monday Labor day September 7th

Since the majority departed on Sunday, we may just make Sunday our departure date instead of Monday. Will decide at a later date.

I do not want this event to become overwhelmingly LARGE, large groups are not as much fun as the small groups. I would like to CAP the number of attendees to just 80 total, first come, first served.

80 is a good number, it's a lot of people but it is also small enough where everyone can socialize with each other.

I do believe Phantom is pulling on you leg about a set number...I am sure he just wants folks to sign up early so we can get more rooms at the hotel....and it gives us a better idea how to set up rides and eats.... There are 62 rooms at this hotel so it is limited as far as staying in one place...not sure there is a bigger hotel as well, although there are several with in 2-3 miles.... the Saturday night dinner is a biggy because we have that catered and we do not want to run out of food. There is an unbelievable amount of planning that goes into these events!!!!!!

I went to Helen, GA on Sunday to get an Air Hawk cushion. It took 45 minutes from edge of town to get to the motorcycle store.

Traffic entering from South side was stop and go for 3 miles!!!

Lady at store give me a route that goes around Helen and ends up in Hiawassee.Roads 17,255,197 and 76. Great senic roads.

The cushion was great but did I get hosed on the price.Did research on internet. Still shocked what the charged for it. Amazon has it listed for

$145. It cost me $229.

Steve is correct, just trying to plan so that there are NO short falls. If we have a bigger turn out in 2015, Friday and Saturday may have multiple rides instead of one single ride each day like we did this year.

We also do Smokin in the Smokies every year in Pigeon Forge, exactly two weeks after this rally.
She really likes riding down to that rally and seeing all of our friends and customers. She was not that interested in coming down twice in two weeks, not sure why, lol, it's only a 660 mile ride one way.

We never had an official count, we had a few guys come in for just one day and others for the entire weekend. It was a good size turnout, however this year looks to be a better turn out. Hotel is almost fully booked and we are 6 months out :shock:

I would love to come but work being sporadic. I have a hard time committing to things. I Would like to meet members . I do like to ride in small groups anyway. Not saying that I would not come but committing for me is difficult. I do want to make it to smokies this year not sure when but would probably stay at one of the campgrounds in the area.

:icon_frown: Just called the Micro-tel to attempt to get a room. They are sold out! So, I went to plan B, and got a room at another motel- the Colonial Inn. Looked okay on Expedia. Never been there, so don't know for sure. Reviews were OK. I don't plan on hanging around the motel anyway. The F6B was not designed for saving any miles.
I never understood why anyone with a motorcycle would sit in a truck pulling a trailer,going the same place they could have rode the bike to.:shrug:

I had called the Micro-tel, a couple days ago, told them I was with the F6B group looking for a room, for 3-6, and was told, "sorry" they are all sold out. I gave her my phone #, in case she had a cancellation. So, as I had stated earlier, I got a room at the Colonial Inn, just down the road. Cost was only $63/night, so that wasn't too bad.

If your still hoping to go, I am at the Colonial Inn. If you do a map search, it's on the same road as the Micro-Tel, just down the road. But, whether or not you come, we will certainly drink a beer, or something for you! Come and join us! :biggthumpup:

Tell the Microtel to put you on the wait list, then make a reservatiuon close by at one of the other motels (every motel in Franklin is only 10 minutes or less away) I promise you that someone will cancel and then you will have a room,

I just made a reservation using priceline. They say that they have 9 more rooms left. Maybe they were reserved by priceline to sell. Just go to priceline.com

I would like to throw this idea out there to the entire board .....

We like to give away several door prizes on our Saturday evening dinner and we also auction off a few items with the proceeds going towards the cost of hosting the event.

If ANYONE has accessories that they have removed from their F6B and are still in excellent condition .... would you be interested in donating towards this event? I know that several of you have upgraded and replaced a few accessories that currently are collecting dust in the garage .... I checked with "Wikopedia" as to the ave temps for Franklin in sept. looks like highs around 79-83, and over nite lows of upper 50s. So, pack accordingly, and something for non-average days. 'gw-smiley'

I was in Asheville a few years back on the 13th of September and started my ride at 10 AM at 43 degrees and a sky so blue sunglasses barely helped--until you took them off and found out how bright it really was.

DO NOT PACK much if you are riding in ....

SHIP a box of clothes through UPS to the motel and it will be there waiting for you, then at the end just have a pick-up label and have UPS pick it up ... ride home and in a few days your doing laundry. :icon_wink::yes:

Some folks arrive on Thursday night, we have dinner at one of the restaurants across the street. Usually the Dragon on Friday, Saturday will probably be self guided rides to area attractions,There may be 3-4 routes set up with maps that people can go to as well, at night under the big tent, BBQ dinner and awards, giveaways and auctioning off items to help maintain the board ....Sunday also self guided rides, some folks leave on Sunday...drinking and dancing under the tent at night! Monday the remainder depart. And of course this is a little get away for us all so each can do as they please!

The Siatic nerve issue that has hounded me for the last appx 3 months and made my Yellowstone trip less enjoyable than it should have been, is still hanging on. I am scheduled for an MRI next Wed, to see what is up. The Saturday night has been spoken for by a fellow F6b rider but the Thursday and Friday night room will be available when I cancel the reservation. It saddens me to have to "back" out, no pun intended, but it would be a miserable 2,000 plus mile ride, been their, don't want to again. Next year !

Since the majority departed on Sunday, we may just make Sunday our departure date instead of Monday. Will decide at a later date.

One important element ....

I do not want this event to become overwhelmingly LARGE, large groups are not as much fun as the small groups. I would like to CAP the number of attendees to just 80 total, first come, first served.

80 is a good number, it's a lot of people but it is also small enough where everyone can socialize with each other.

Yes I would read from the beginning...There have been a couple of guys cancel rooms so I would call and see if there are any rooms available and THEN say you want the F6B rate... Any and all can attend...you may have to stay at a near by hotel but you can come and hang out for sure !!!!!
