Any of you guys want to start thinking about a ride over the Talimena Drive when the leaves start to change?

11 hours and 20 minutes - over night, I might add - and no takers?
Shock, surprise, I can't believe it either....:icon_razz:

Next time yo are in the NE, I'll meet you and ride up to Eastern PA, and I'll take you on a tour of the covered bridges. Got 20 or so in the eastern part of the state. Very nice this time of year.
Cheers,
Steve

It is pretty nice!!!

Wifey and I were there once,,, Stayed at the Queen Willy Inn,,, Super-thick fog when we arrived,,, Cleared out later. No fall colors when we were there, but still a nice ride!

So I was thinking we ought to do this ride when the leaves change, like late October. Wanted to give everyone plenty of time to make some plans, but if everyone wants to go next week end, sound off. I was beginning to think all you guys from Texas were just posers!

I'm up for either (maybe both), but do have 5 kids that I have to consider, and am free this weekend, I could scout it out and try and get a rate somewhere for later in the month if that works for people.
I'm colorblind, so leaves changing never really did much for me - wife likes em, just not somthing I think of - same with rainbows.

I'd like to meet up in Hot Springs, ride over to Mena, thru the Qauchita National Forest, do the Talimena Scenic Drive and then you guys could head back to Texas and me to Oklahoma. Or we could meet in Talimena and do the same in reverse. What do ya think? Either works for me.

I would be interested if the date works for me. I did it two separate trips last week! LOL! Certainly want to see the leaves this fall! I can't make a promise that I will be there but if dates work, I'm in. I have stayed in Sun Country Inn and Limetree Inn both in Mena. They are bearable. And prices are reasonable. Weekend of 26th is out for me. I'm in Tyler, TX.

I like the sound of starting out hot springs and finishing out in talimena

Since I posted this, I have come out of retirement and taken on a large project as a consultant, looks like I won't be making this trip. I encourage those of you who are close and haven't been over the Talimena Drive, to make plans to do so while the colors peak. Retirement is nice, but couldn't pass up this opportunity which may keep me hooked up for the better part of a year.
