I picked up my fast black F6B Saturday afternoon with less than a mile on the clock and I am now over 900 miles.

I have not been able to wipe the sh*t eating grin off my face.

Special thanks to Texas TC for inviting me to his house and giving me some good advice about the bike. He sold me his stock seat and shipped it to Russell Day Long for me.

I am buying the Day-Long seat based on BIGLRYs advice. I am also heeding his counsel to get the seat right before looking at windshields.
Thank you BIGLRY!

I also have to mention Peter and the good folks at Moto-Liberty sold me a Schuberth S2 helmet with the bluetooth built-in. Works like a charm. My wife called me and after we chatted for a while, she asked me when I was getting back on the road. I explained to her that I was going 80 down the highway the entire conversation. The acoustics are that good.

Also special thanks to Keith at Goldwing Werks just north of Houston. He sold me Helibars and installed them while I waited. He also did my 600 mile service. Very reasonable pricing (770 for the Helibars-including shipping to him, 100 for the Helibar install and 80 for the 600 mile service. Keith is a great guy and knows his stuff. However, I am pretty sure his white Lab puppy named Doc is the brains of the outfit.

This is the best damn bike I have ever ridden. I feel more confident riding it than my previous BMW or my Pacific Coast. That being said, I want to learn more and get better at it. I will be on this forum trying to glean as much knowledge as I can.

I look forward to meeting more members of the forum as time goes on.

You will be able to recognize me from my grin!

Thanks in advance to all!

Congrats on the new bike and the wise decision to get the fast black one, early reports seem to indicate painting a red or yellow one black, do not make it faster.:icon_wink:

My riding season is almost over, Wisconsin, and I am bummed. Have put over 7,000 miles on it since I picked it up in the spring and I don't want to stop. Love every minute on it and I think the biggest thing to me, even before all the other great things is the radio, never had a bike w/one and just love having music when I ride.

Enjoy

Congrats on the new F6B. I also ordered Helibars from Keith and am waiting for them to arrive.

How do you like the Helibars? I have risers now that I installed, but decided I still wanted more pullback and adjustability so decided on the Helibars based on all the great reviews.

You're right Chop. Nothing you can do if you screw up and get something besides 'Fast Black". Painting over it will not help. Lots have tried.

The Helibars are great. I am waiting to make the final adjustments until after my Day-Long seat arrives in a couple of weeks. Note that risers can not be used with the Helibars. You may want to consider having Keith do the install--he has some custom tools the Helibar sent him. At $100 cost, it was a no brainer for me.

Side note: I ride down to Houston for work about once a month. PM me if you are interested in meeting for lunch.

Yup, I'm having Keith do the install. As you said, for $100 it's a no brainer for me too. I do enjoy installing my own accessories, but the Helibars are a bit more involved than I'm comfortable with.

I'll pm you on lunch.

I am also a new F6 owner, had my 2013 since last Friday. Bought it new from the dealer. It was the standard model so I had to add the backrest and luggage rack myself.

I only rode 250 miles this week due to work. I suffer as far as riding in the winter but I am a teacher so I really pack on the miles in the summer.

Looking forward to reading about the bike on this forum. You never know what you can pick up.
