Decided I wanted to go new. Being the cheap SOB that I am, my right index finger is worn out from operating the mouse this week on Cycle Trader and Craigslist snooping for the best deal. Convincing the wife was not as hard when I reminded her the first F6B we looked at was almost $21,000. It was really a matter of the black one from Pete's Cycle in Baltimore or the Red one from Rockville, Md---my choice for $12,999. I really wanted the Black and she wanted the red, so we compromised--We get the RED one.:icon_lol: Oh well................. Got to find a trailer and truck to borrow and the agonizing wait to next Friday to make the 6 hour drive to bring the baby home. Going to be a long 7 days.

Yes it will...... can't figure out a way to get there and ride it back...being Red it will take a while...but worth it !!!

LOL! I have ridden back as far as Cherry Hill, NJ when I bought my VTX--350 miles on my Cross Roads from Edinburg Va. However, 280 miles of I95 is not the best bonding experience.

Go for it. I rode my red one 1105 miles in under 17 hours on Interstates 35, 30, 20, 10 and 17 so you can easily make your short trip. Besides, your smiles will out number your miles ten fold.

Congrats. Just remember your B etiquette. When a Fast Black B overtakes you try not to look as it passes. The Black Ones don't just turn heads , they 'Inflict Whiplash'!!!

I found the 1000 miles of I95 between Philly and Daytona especially bonding! Both ways!
Congrats!

Wait a second. Let me talk to ya for a minute..lisssen :-)
285 miles is just short of a fillup on these. When you get close to empty you will want to fill up and go another 200 miles.
I dont know what your weather is like this time of year, but you will really like that you rode it home.
Most of us on this forum agree, this is a wonderful machine and 2-300 miles is an easy 'just going for a ride'.
If it is super cold,I understand but you will love this bike in decent weather.
Trust me on this:-)
oh sorry about the red but a compromise with the wife more than makes up for it..or so i'm told :icon_cool:.
Kidding with you , but seriously consider riding it home. Makes me cry seeing a Wing on a trailer and an F6B !!!OMG !!!:yikes:

Happy wife happy life... but now that you're getting an F6, happiness is always a throttle blip away.

I was trying to work this into a trip to Richmond, Va this weekend---go get the bike Friday and go back to Richmond for the weekend. Getting a trailer and something to pull it with is becoming more of a project that I like...........so after looking at the weather, it looks like a trip to Richmond Tuesday after work---then to Rockville Wednesday morning (nice to have 190 hours of sick time built up)----and then a 306 mile ride home. Been watching YouTube videos and I can't wait! 'all/right'

All that is left is removing the Victory patch off the back of the jacket!

I have been waiting just as you. As soon as I had seen the $12999 markdowns I jumped on the faster black one at Pete's...Here's to hoping they are all we imagined they are.

Got back home Wednesday night about 6:30. Best lights EVER on a bike. Now just trying to get the temp up a tad and find some time to add to the 300 mile trip home! Pictures to follow.

Finally huh? Congrats on the maiden voyage!

Check your low beam adjustment, many GL1800's are adjusted low from the factory... the lights may even be better :icon_biggrin:

Funny you should mention that! While in a lean on an incline loop on an exit ramp the top line of the lights almost disappeared as all that was lit up was right in front of me. Threw me off a bit, but if they are adjusted low as you suggest, then that explains it!

Thanks
