I love the looks of my Black F6B but I'm not a big fan of the black rims. So I thought that when I needed tires I would have the rims power coated, maybe silver. But I found some aluminum Goldwing rims that I think will look great. Now I will have to wear out the tires before I put the new rims on.

If the rims are PRE- 2012, they did not have a clear coat applied to the aluminum. You will need to polish them periodically.

I have a set that has been powder coated (with silver) sitting on the shelf waiting for a potential buyer :icon_wink:

I installed chrome rims on my Goldwing instead.

To each his own, make the bike what you want! I personally like the blacked out look, it's what drew my attention in the first place. I also like that they don't take much to clean up.

Chrome is beautiful , but might get peeled in the time . Aluminum doesn't hold chroming well . Just a little stone can make a damage . Since rear one is not so visible , I powder coated only front in silver and looks really nice .

Jack I just ordered an RC Components Assault Chrome wheel. I don't like the black either and from my experience the chrome is easier to keep clean. I'm gonna have my stock rear chromed also.

Motivated by your idea , I engaged conversation with rep of RC Components ( John Haney ) and they claimed , that for Honda Goldwing 1800 ( 2001 - 1014 ) and consequently F6B , his factory makes JUST ONLY FRONT WHEELS. They have all kind of styles and prices are between $995.00 to $1,299.00 Rear wheels are NOT available , so if you planning to chrome your REAR wheel , the only option is to plate the factory one .

trade the black for a standard goldwing rim....

New Rear take offs, New Tire & New Rims are taken off Brand new Goldwings when they Trike them.

I'd trade a new goldwing rear take off for a black F6B rim...

Brand new BS on it...

I think it's a clear coat. I'm thinking of stripping off the clear coat and polish the front rim. Should look good. I did that with my Valkyrie rims and front fork.

I had 7 Fat Ladies , all models and all years . Until I saw and bought F6B , it was the best bike for me . It is a classic already , missed by many , especially those who couldn't understand Mother Honda for ending its production . So , Valkyrie had factory polished and clear coated rims only on Standards 2001-2003 and Tourers 2001-2002 . Interstate' didn't have that option at all . Your shiny rims and fork surpassed any options , which Valk riders could do . Actually it is better than chrome , but requires periodical cleaning . Still is worth it . Good job Bro . In F6B I ended with powder coating just front wheel in silver , but might copy you in future and polish it in next tire exchange . Let us know, how it might look .

I'll take both of your black rims off your hands when you decide what to do...

I will be kepting the black rims on till the tires are shot. Right on there are 3900 miles on them. So it might be another year.
