The first time I ever rode the Tail of the Dragon, I came up on an oncoming truck roughly halfway through it. The passenger side wheels on his cab were as close to his edge of the road as he could get, and his driver side trailer wheels came within 2 or 3 feet of the edge of the road on my side. Thank goodness some good Samaritan on a motorcycle was in front of him warning oncoming traffic. I was able to stop short of that curve and give the truck enough room. :yikes:

Glad to see TDOT finally woke up and joined NC on the truck ban.
