I have heard one should replace their helmet every five years because the foam breaks down. Is it five years from the manufactured date or from the date of purchase?

I think care and storage conditions can extend that 5 year window but it's a good guideline.

When you can smell it from 5 feet away or less. :icon_mrgreen:

You guys wearing 1/2 or even 3/4 helmets shouldn't be concerned, right? :icon_wink:

It was recently proven that 'Snell' helmets did not protect as well as much cheaper brands with softer shells, which absorb more impact.

Additionally, no helmet will protect you in a direct impact collision resulting in cervical vertebra compression or fracture.

Hmm...then it has to be really bad, considering they like to lick the sweat off a person, lick their own pee pee, sniff and lick other dogs anual and there are some dogs that like yo eat their own poo. Yuck!!! :yikes:

If your helmet is good quality product and doesn't have significant scratches ( or damages ) , sometimes replacing just liners and cheek pads makes more sense . Simply find all prices , compare and make smart choice . Good luck .
