Hello All,
I've read a lot of posts about owners having issues with the black paint on the 2013 model.

Has anyone had similar issues with the pearl yellow paint on the 2014's?

Thanks.

All Goldwing riders have the same question .

answer :

Cheap , "first stage" ( one layer ) and cost effective factory "savings" .

Thanks for the reply and link. Though, doesn't much help. Any owners of 2014 Pearl Yellow bikes care to chime in?

Yellow paint: has a slight metallic finish. Easy to scratch, be careful. Scratches come out with Meguair's scratch X2.0 -->Ultimate polish-->tech wax 2.0. Paint does not come off on polishing towels. Finish is OK, not up to Harley quality though, requires more than average attentiveness to keep it nice.

I have not seen any. However, they maybe there, but hard to see due the color. My 2013 red F6B showed scratches and my blue 2012 GL1800 showed scratches, but I have not seen any on my yellow F6B.

I have the Metallic Yellow and don't have any problems. There is a clear coat on this color. I have about 12,000 miles on my bike and it still looks like new.

I can't verify whether there is in fact a clear coat on the yellow...I just don't know.
But I can say that after 8 months and 12k miles, I'm still very happy with the finish on mine.
