Do you have to remove the rack and back rest to
install a new seat?

I have a Mustang seat and yes removal of the backrest is required, not hard at all.

You do with Mustang seat as said above..Make sure you order/have the current after-market tapered longer seat bolts or you will fight the install until you start "swearing a lot"...They are now available from Value Accessories on this site.....

If you haven't removed the grab rails yet, be forewarned they have some weight to them.
