Fun review, interesting coming from a BMW owner.

"They only made this bike for a year-and-a-half so parts are REALLY EXPENSIVE." Rune parts are mostly unique.

Rideapart is one of the motorcycle websites I check almost daily. Some others are:

motorcycle.com
motorcycledaily.com
motorcycleusa.com
visordown.com
lanesplitter.com
motorcyclecruiser.com

As the owner of four Runes at once in the past and one in my stable now I can and do relate. I will always own a Rune to ride on them days when no other bike fixes my motorcycle craving addiction that only the Rune can provide.

-24 air temp here this morning when I went out to get my newspaper. I always check my shop every morning, which I keep at 48 degrees in the winter. I have eight bikes but this morning I pulled the flannel cover off my Rune and just admired the massive chromed beauty of it for five minutes or so. The design has an eternal quality that will still be studied and admired many years from now much like the classic Deco designs of long ago.

I have been BLESSED to have seen 7 at one time :icon_wink::yes:

4 on one side of the garage and 3 on the other side of the garage .....

(Uncle Gene claiming one for himself and then we added a trike kit with HD saddlebags)

There are 3 bikes that I fell in lust with at first sighting:
1. The black Valk screeching across the desert in the only commercial I would ever watch over and over again. Had one, loved her.
2. The Rune - saw it at an HD dealer, couldn't touch the price, but was fascinated by the alleged "over-engineering."
3. The F6B - which I bought without really even riding. I just knew....

Someday, I'd like to get a Rune. Maybe when Phantom gets tired of one, he'll make me an offer I cannot refuse.

I too fell in love with the Beauty of the Rune, but at that time I settled for a 2008 vtx 1800n3 for half the price of the Rune.
would still like to ride one, possibly own one?

Holy!!!! Now we know where all the Runes have gone! And my wife thinks I'm bad.

The RUNES were built STRICTLY for the North American market out of the Marysville, Ohio USA Plant.

Many affluent international individuals sought the Rune because of its rarity and the reliability of a Honda.
This made the Rune the perfect Penis Extension for some.

ALL of the above Runes were exported to Belgium, Hong Kong-China, Dubai, Russia, Brazil and Argentina.

The exportation of Runes has helped in keeping the US value of Runes in the $17,000 - $20,000 range. Not bad for a bike that was built from 2003 until mid 2004

Vette's seem a dime a dozen.
I haven't ridden in or driven the latest iteration. Been in a few older ones.
Meh.
Now, a hemi Cuda, Challenger, Charger, whatever, that's a whole different kettle of fish.
And a 707 HP 2015 Challenger? Straight ahead works for me.

Not at all Steve; the SRT8 platform has seen many, many, many chassis development miles at Nurburgring.

Ohh... I didn't know that. Sorry to hear you got rid of it.

I think I hear what you're saying about the power; it definitely changes the way a car can be driven. I'm running a Kenne Bell supercharger on mine at 8psi of boost which makes about 600hp at the crank. FUN!!!

Enjoying F6B and Rune + restoring 72 Roadrunner with 440 in it , I consider myself to be Sheik of Arabia already.
The only missing Harem of belly dancers is missing . Is it luck of space in my garage , or not enough money ?

I absolutely loved my Rune, I had it for 8 years, but in the end it was just too much work for me to keep clean. There were three of them in Scotland that I knew of, the only other one I saw was a trike like mine!
