The original CB750 is only #38.
Weird list with some real weirdo bikes in it.

I agree with you bird. It seems everyone had a CB750. Me included. Should have made top 20 at least.

Yeah... quite a bit of homage paid.

How can the premier touring bike for over a decade with gazillions of road miles not make the list? At least the Rune was #39 (or was it 36).

'Greatest' is the wrong word for that list.

I'd go with 'Iconic', 'Unique' or 'Game-changing'.

For example, that Yamaha GTS-1000 was a real dog and never sold well. But it had a single sided fork, so it made the list. :icon_rolleyes:

For me , the most beautiful bikes were BMWs made before IIWW . The "greatest" was my first Jawa 250 , which has open for me all new world of joy and excitement . Fair enough ?

It will be # 1 on the list in 2053 or latest 2054 - take my word .

OK , let me start by saying I'm just a redneck biker. Now I can get to it. Whoever made this list is crazy. Not cause my bike didn't make it. Cause the number one bike is a limited production racer that hasnt sold enough models to say its number one. I don't see it in Moto GP. Sometimes people that make these lists are weird azz. I believe the GL 1800 should have made the list. Honda had more bikes on the list than anyone. Some of those bikes were so limited in production almost no one has heard of them. At least no HD made the list. It wouldn't be the list I would make. I realize that this is a "world" list. Probably more MCs abroard than here. I think we set the pace for popular MCs. They ride a lot of scooters across the pond.

I seen a few of these 50 of the greatest ... At one point in my life many moons ago the Honda Mini Trail 50 was the greatest bike ever made ... LOL

I remember those days. 1969 to about 1972.

Quirky list. Mostly sport bikes with a few odd balls and one-off specials. Certainly not the list of most people.

That's 15 minutes I'll never get back (damn thing was slow to load).

Exactly. You said what I wanted to say. And yeah it was slow.

No Hayabusa??

Looking at the overall feel of the list the Hayabusa is a major omission. I would also have the Ariel Sqaure 4 on the list somewhere, (unless I missed it). So many motorcycles, so little time.

Well you know its a wank when you read
"Why motorcycles? To paraphrase our good friend Wes Siler of Hell For Leather magazine, motorcycles are faster than cars"
hell for leather Magazine??????? might be able to write for a magazine but has no idea what he's talking about???? Imagine riding a bike on the street that beats the Hennessey Venom GT with a speed exceeding 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h)

And give me a break
The top ten/twenty should have in it the Honda 4's the mack 1,2,3 Kawasakis and the big 900, that BMW that had the Bikini fairing, the triumph twins from the 60's, any Harley FL?, Indian Chief, Harley WLA, Bruff Superior, and R1, Vespa, and a Ducati or two, or three, or four but definitely the desmo oh and a BSA Bantom (Had one in 72) Oh and that Vincent Black Knight:yes:

Just because you own a keyboard and write for a magazine does not quality you to list a 50 greatest anything. There are over 7 billion people on this planet and if you think you can get 2 of them to agree on the greatest 50 of anything..............you are crazy, too.
