I have been wearing a Shoei Neotec Modular but I voted 3/4 because over the Winter I bought a Shoei J-Cruise which is what I think I'll be using. Haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Speed & Strength... Spin Doctor... it's ok for a $160 helmet.

I bought it for the flip down visor, speed-release latches, styling, venting, and better airflow being a 3/4 helmet. I'd buy another one in a pinch, but given the luxury to shop around and see what else is out there, I'd do that. The helmet seems really noisy, even with the vents closed.

I have a Shoei RF1200 and another Shoei 3/4 helmet, which is what I wear most often. I am considering trying a Nolan N44 if it fits my head shape. I would like to have the flexibility that it offers and the very wide field of view.

The only one I have ever found that fits my size 8 1/4 melon is.....
12542

This is only one that really fits and I can wear all day and night in all types of conditions without it squeezing my ears, locking my jaw, cutting off my peripheral vision or muting the outside sounds so I feel like I'm in an isolation chamber.

Do I wish I could get something with a hell of a lot more protection and internal speakers and fit properly?...Hell yea, but so far I have not found one, and before anyone says 'blahblahblah' brand will fit... I have about 10 helmets on the shelf or hanging on the shop wall like a full face Shoie Z, very expensive and bought so I could race on the track, a Bell 3/4 to a brand new XXX large Scorpion that everyone saied would fit(it didn't) along with a few others.
I wish I had half the $ back I have spent over the years trying to find the perfect fitting MC helmet :301:

12543

Oh I almost forgot...It's a $35 novelty helmet, not legal or safe anywhere...

I've got 3:

Schuberth C3 (full modular), Shoei J Cruise (3/4), and Scorpion EXO 110 (half).
I wear each depending on the weather and distance.
Each has its merits and downsides.
My favourite for the summer is the Scorpion. Being a half helmet, I can best hear the tunes on my audio system.
For cold weather, it's a tossup between the Schuberth and Shoei.

I recently purchased the LaZer Monaco Carbon modular helmet with the transition photo chromatic face shield. This thing is extremely light weight and the face shield changes tint based on the available light from totally clear to dark tint in bright sunshine. It's available from Revzilla.com.

I use a large Arai Vector full face:
I like it because the shell is small enough to fit in my left saddlebag, it's very comfortable, well built, and light.

I'm thinking of trying a HJC RPHA Max modular for my next helmet.
http://hjchelmets.com/hjca/files/attach/images/2157/400/003/af1e10c93b8b9f04caa1cf84cfb52f12.jpg
I've never been particularly impressed the HJC helmets in the past. They usually seem to have huge shell sizes and have a cheap feel. The RPHA Max, however, seems to be on par with the best. It's light, has a quality feel, and a small shell size. It is pretty expensive, but seems to be worth the price.
http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/hjc/rpha-max/

The RPHA is the middle helmet. It's quite a difference in shell size.

Hey Bobby, how's the wind noise through the Neotec? What color did ya get? I currently wear a Shoei Qwest. Fit is great, wish it had the sunvisor pulldown like the Neotec and GT Air. The only real draw back of the Qwest is there is not too much air flow (thus being one of the quietest helmet on the market), and the headliner is not removable for proper washing like the cheek pads are. I've been really debating which helmet I'm going to get next... the Shoei Neotec or the Shoei GT Air. I've always had a full-faced helmet... so not sure how I'd like a modular helmet.

Jerry,
It's a great helmet. Very comfortable and I like that it's integrated for the Sena SMH-10.
It's not the quietest helmet, especially if you leave the peak visor on.
Size wise, mine's a medium so maybe sized a tad big.
Hope that helps,

Have a HJC Symax 2 modular that works. It is noisy and a quirky fit, but price was good. It's nice having the drop down tinted visor though with transition eye glasses I don't use it much these days. The nice thing about a modular helmit is raising the chin bar on warmer days or when you need something to block the sun when it's low on the horizon. I also have the HJC 3/4 for warmer weather, it's very noisy. I have a Bell Rogue half helmit that is pretty nice for really hot days though it's like wearing an inverted salad bowel, it's big but does have some nice features. I thought I'd like the removable muzzle, but the thing is a pain and I haven't bothered with it, except for the occasional appearance in a Mad Max movie.

I haven't tried to fit my medium in the bag yet but I must also add that this is the first helmet I've had where I actually could feel the fresh air flowing across the top of my head! I couldn't believe it. I picked it up friday afternoon and fully enjoyed my ride home in the heat. Quiet, smooth and firm open/close action, smooth visor/internal visor action and amazing air flow. I can't imagine a better helmet.

There may be exceptions to this rule but generally speaking, the better a helmet ventilates, the noisier it is (IMHO). It's another one of those trade-offs.

Do you have the stock windscreen on your 'B?
If so, no helmet will ever hide the howl of the wind blasting you.
My suggestion: Keep the helmet and get a taller windshield.

You should only ride with the visor full down on the highway, or cracked up just to the first notch for slow city riding so you get some airflow.

Look at most tests done by helmet manufacturers.
They show a pointed weight being dropped on the top of a helmet.
They claim this shows how good the helmet will hold up in a wreck.
The truth is shown in the .4%
Total BS by the manufacturers.

I wanted a flip-face when I rode my VFR800 so, after on-line research, I bought the Nolan N104 and installed the Nolan B4 Bluetooth to connect with my Sony Z. The Sony being water resistant to mount on the triple clamp. I use that for GPS and tunes.

I treated myself to a new Nolan, the N44 when I got the F6B. It's colour matches my silver bullet. I installed the Nolan B5 set in that.

1. Both helmets are size L and fit in a sweet spot in either pannier
2. The wind noise is more noticeable on the F6B even with a trial with the N104. N44 didn't improve it. I've ordered a Madstad 11" medium grey and will post a picture and comment after that's installed.
3. I chose the Nolan brand after reading reviews on webbikeworld.com. That site seemed to offer the most comprehensive review for any number of helmets.
4. Mounting the Sony on the F6B has me flummoxed. I hope the Madstad will give me a suitable mount point for the eCaddy ball for the Sony cradle. At the moment I pop the phone in the left fairing pocket but I keep forgetting to take it out when I dismount. Dang it. Also, I'm not sure how to run power to the phone when I mount it. Anyway... that's my helmet story.

I wear a HJC half shell for summer riding and a Bilt full face for cold weather riding. Both fit well and suit my needs.

After years of not riding with a helmet, then cheap 3/4, I ordered a Nolan 104 today. I read where the B4 Bluetooth doesn't sync with the I phone so I'm gonna try the wired unit first. The Schuberth Pro sounds like the best one but it is pretty pricy. I'll give my review of the Nolan in a few days.

I'm wearing the RS-1 Bell with the transitional shield. Feels great on my large bean head. XL

Cold weather I use a Shoei QWest w/pinlock shield , general cruising Shoei RJ Platinum 3/4(very comfortable), and hot city rides I have a couple no mushroom half helmets.
