View Full Version : How do you smash an F6B front fender in half?

You pull up to a red light on your bike, stop behind a car whose driver then proceeds to put their car in reverse and without turning their head to see if anyone is behind them reverses onto the tire then the front fender of your F6B, that you crack in half. Then you get out of the car, look at the damage on the person's motorcycle and say " Why did you run into the back of my car?" Kid you not that happened, unfortunately for her there was an eyewitness at the scene who saw the whole thing. Some people get on their knees and beg you to hate them. This is despite I have the Pathblazer Headlight Modulator flashing away on my high beams like a Vegas Casino. The best is she flees the scene but I get the plate she has no insurance. Life in the Big Apple. Phantom is doing that crypto-reverso thing on the pictures again.

Sorry that happened! Hopefully, her insurance (if she has any) will take care of the damages. Glad you escaped injury yourself.

Damn, that sucks!

That almost happened to me last weekend. Scary feeling when you have no reverse to get out of the way. Good job getting the plate number.

Hopefully your insurance won't go up when they get to cover this (assuming you had a collision rider).

You see ? - Las Vegas lights sucks . You need to upgrade them to Atlantic City strobes or lasers , like military style and fanfares stronger than her stereo . You probably know the impact of that collision , but in NJ Rider Ins. could total your B ( or maybe not ? ) .
In one way , I hate loud pipes , but in City .... hmmmm ... HD's barks help . Who knows , what's better ? Sorry anyway .:tissue::tissue::tissue:

In the end I'm OK, funny thing is I was going to get a tooth pulled I just didn't think my bike was going to get a fender extracted at the same time.

AC lights, how could I overlook the Jersey Shore, especially the Irish Pub, love that place. Nothing like a nice cold one there to wash it all away.

This Sucks

I can relate. About fifteen years ago on my 94 zx750
I once followed a box truck (like a Uhaul truck) into a shopping plaza, and just off the main road the parking lot went into a downward slope.
As soon as I clear the main road right behind the box truck, he throws it in reverse to back out on the main road again.
I'm right in the middle of rear of him and can't go backwards, back up the slope to get out his way.....I'm honking and waving my hand in his side mirrors....No Dice.
The rear bumper smashes my front fender and is now pushing me backwards into the main road, and now the truck has rolled up on to the front tire and now hitting the front forks keeping the bike upright..The weight of the rear of the truck is now on my front tire!
I jump off the bike and it stays upright and is heading out on the main road.
He stops the truck when me and others in the parking lot are yelling and him to stop.
Crazy world out there. Who just pulls into a major parking lot off a busy main road, and throws it into reverse?
I now NEVER put myself out of view of others mirrors when behind anyone.

That's why I never get on that bike if I'm even slightly mentally tired, need to bring that A game every single time.

Their insurance adjuster already came down, video taped the bike wheels are turning. It has almost 8,000 miles on it so I said let me do an 8K service on it, $525.00, son of a bitch I felt like I was at the Harley dealer.

For the price, the Mobius is not a bad choice, IMHO. It's been a huge hit in the R/C (radio control) industry due to it's low cost, light weight, and small size. I use one on my bike to record video continuously (in case of an unexpected "event"). Like many others using it in a vehicle, I switched out the LiPo battery for a Super Capacitor. With that mod, you don't have to worry about damaging the battery by having it connected to power anytime the ignition is switched on. Video is good but there is no IS (image stabilization). I've had mine for over a year now and paid around $40 for it. The price has gone up a bit since then. Oh, and BTW, it is NOT waterproof.

Recently, I added another action cam to use on my helmet. This one will be used intermittently for "action" moments. This one is the iON Air Pro Lite Wifi. I got a great deal on this one too on eBay. They normally list for $200 but you can find "deals" if you look. The iON is a cylindrical-shaped waterproof camera and mounts nicely to a helmet. It runs on an internal LiPo battery only.

I saw the Mobius, then I caught this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TM59NCK/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=19JPJ2LSXM77B&coliid=I1E2FIU2BV8QFG&psc=1 and there is a video on Youtube demonstrating the quality, which is excellent. I think I need 4 cameras to ride in the city. Here's the YouTube video:

This thread seems to be making a turn into a camera thread but, since you're the OP, I'll follow your lead. Yes, this must be a pretty nice camera that you linked here since Techmoan (my fav camera reviewer) rates it very highly. I would definitely consider this for a car cam but I'm not so sure about installing it on the bike considering it doesn't appear to be weatherproof.

I was thinking about that, the front camera could be mounted behind the windscreen, which never gets wet, while the rear camera could be fitted in a weatherproof case, maybe a GoPro case with a couple of adjustments. The monitor/menu screen can be either encased in a weatherproof lining inside the side pocket or glove box or even rerouted inside one of the saddlebags.
