View Full Version : Exhaust Prototype ... Your thoughts

:icon_cool::yes:

I had a great conversation with a gentleman this afternoon that has vast experience in exhaust manufacturing and has been successful in increasing performance on several motorcycles.

He has produced a prototype set of pipes for the F6B that is made with BLACK Stainless steel and removable baffles that has a richer-throatier sound.

As a courtesy to him, to avoid any commercial spamming ..... I am posting a couple of images to see if there would be interest from our members that are looking for another style. Please give your feedback

Thank You!

I like the looks a lot. I hope they're long enough, past the saddlebags. It would also depend on sound and price for me, but so far I am a potential customer.

Are they similar in dimension to the stock, as big around? Agree, need to see them on a bike, but first impression is good.

Although a fan of the quiet, big chrome, hot rod looking stock pipes, those look nice. Just like everyone else, price, sound and looks on bike, but I like them.

Otherwise, they look great.

They are very attractive and looking sharp . Stainless steel produce different sound , which might change bike's "demeanor" for sportier one . Our Bs could bark very well , especially if the baffles can be removed on demand .
Tony - if you have chances to upload its "music" and provide some dyno read out , most of us will be very interested .
Does it required some additional tuning ? What about the heat ? Please ask this guy for specifics . Thanks ...

Beautiful hardware... I'd be tempted... the rectangular is a better match than our OEM round cans.

My concern is unless torq loopz are installed, any aftermarket exhaust will likely drone.
From what I've read, it's the crossover pipe and cats that cause drone.
If these mufflers have no drone, that would be fantastic.

I see this thread is older but still relevant. These mufflers look great, especially for the F6B shape. If they a a bit smaller than the V&H Monsters, less change of scraping pavement. Stainless is great also, if it is thick enough not to dent easy or crack as some SS pipes can do if hot enough...then again, being new here, there is no vibration I am used to!

I would buy if performance matches looks. The best I've seen.

Like everyone else, really like the look as it matches the rear end area as its more rectangular where the stock is round...hmm round peg in square hoile, just like the front driving light area. I would also go for the black carbon ends. How much, when available and sound please.

I would want to hear them firsthand.
I was told that the Cobra 6-2-6 pipes had no drone.
When I drove an F6B with them on, I had to turn around and get off after only 5 minutes.
The drone was that bad at 30-40 mph.

Kind of a nice look to them and I'll bet they ain't cheap. They come in two configurations, Omologated according European regulations and non Omologated.
Now if you are like me and ya don't have a clue as to what omolgated means....Google was my friend and the whole word is Homologated and according to Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homologation
"In motorsports a vehicle must be homologated by the sanctioning body to race in a given league, such as World Superbikes, International Level Kart Racing or other sportscar racing series.
Where a racing class requires that the vehicles raced be production vehicles only slightly adapted for racing, manufacturers typically produce a limited run of such vehicles for public sale so that they can legitimately race them in the class. These vehicles are commonly called "homologation specials".

I wonder if there might be sound differences between the two models or one has some special stamp of approval by a governing body and the other does not, but a call to Sparks would probably get the correct answer.
