I have a hard time buying into that. It has to be a misprint. I'm scrounging pennies, road trip.

Somehow, someone made a typo. If not, someone is going to end up with a great deal?
The sell is either un-informed or desperate?

Injun Joe
04-08-2015, 04:58 PM
I imagine they're selling it for what they have into it since they're a car dealer that took it in on trade. I'm consoling myself by telling myself I love my black at any price.

My guess is that's a typo. If not, anyone can buy it at that price and flip it for a profit with a little patience. Car dealerships would know the actual value.

Nigerian scammers place these ads all the time in hopes they can get you to transfer a deposit into their bank account that ends up in Nigeria...

hgslayr
04-08-2015, 05:33 PM
Most use a gmail acct and there is alwats some urgency to make the deposit due to the seller being out of country...The deal is always too good to be true and like the old saying, it usually is...

53driver
04-08-2015, 05:54 PM
I guarantee that's a scam in the making....
I just sent an email.....we'll see what malarkey comes back.
If not, my sister in Denver is getting an early birthday present.

It's just missing a 1. It's a simple typo. Doesn't fit the bill for a scammer with such nice pics.

I think someone missed the 1 in front of 7250....I saw, I think, the same bike a while back on the Denver list for $17250....Who knows???
If, not then somewhere, something is "fishy"....

53driver
04-08-2015, 07:06 PM
Well, if it is a typo, I don't why the "New Car Dealership" name isn't mentioned.....
those guys go WAY out of their way to mention their business at any opportunity.

They also didn't mention it was a Deluxe either.....

hgslayr - if/when I get an answer, I'll post it here - yes, should be a "lol."

all the Nigerian scammers I have seen used very high quality pictures that they steal from legitimate sellers, (thats called the bait and hook)....They must have some successes along the way because they keep doing it with hundreds if not thousands of ads they run...Guarantee its a scam likely used from a previous legitimate ad that someone saw a month ago...

okay I just reread it and now see that.. so it could be legit but my guess is they left a 1 out or theyre using the dealership as a trick to get you to put down a deposit...

Did I mention that here in Eastern NC, the minor league baseball team will sell you the naming rights to the ball park--You may even want to change your name to Bank of America to celebrate? Call me, and for a reasonable price I will get the ballpark named after you and throw in a local bridge at the same time. And for about $500 I can let you adopt 1 mile of the local highway. I will also throw in some cool orange vests. They may have INMATE written across the back, but just ignore that.

On their web page, it gives an address, I Google Mapped it.....
There's a "For Lease" sign and then another sign with some names, none of which seemed to match up to US Motor Trader or whatever they called themselves.

they claim they got a really good deal on the bike but I'm sure the previous seller wouldn't have given it away for 4 or 5 grand so I think they are just trying to get somebody to put a down payment on it and wire it into their bank account...these guys are getting really good and very creative at what they do

So, I say we all make a ride to Raleigh! I returned his e-mail. I have an appointment in Raleigh next week. It's most likely a finance scam. they lock you into a 60mo term, and with finance charges, you pay about $25,000 over 5 years. if you pay early, there are fees and such. Was involved in a scam like this in my younger days. paid 20K for a 12k evo Harley... but i had to have that Harley lifestyle and they knew it. Glad I got over that.

I'm self employed, and make a living selling services and stuff- Fairly! , but this kinda $#!T makes me sick, going after naive people with crappy credit. This guy is a predator. I'd show up at his door, talk about a deal, and then just say, " well, i have cash. where is the bike? " might end up with it... what will I do with 3 bikes?

I despise predators....hiflyer said it "Why can't they work as hard to make an honest living?" (or somthing like that...)
Nod a lot at the financials, then ask to see the bike. If you tell them you have cash then ask to see the bike, when they go to get it, they will come back saying the bike "had been sold earlier today by an associate."
Best of luck and let us know what you find.
I still haven't received a reply email yet.....I guess they don't want my business, but I think in one of the emails I wrote that I had cash and was ready to do business....

The curious thing, it looks like they find things on sites like craigslist, and sell it for the seller. they take a cut, and have the bike delivered. I assume it's out west, as the posts seem to be focused in Nevada, Colorado, and such. They then have it"shipped" for $999 to you. there has gotta be a catch. no one has that bike for 8K.

If we knew for sure it was in Raleigh the ad can be forwarded to that states Attorney General. Nearly all states have a consumer protection division and they do frown on predatory material like this.
