View Full Version : Took the plunge...

I took the plunge this week and purchased a new 2013 F6B, in the faster red. I wasn't really looking to make a trade as I loved my 2012 Kawasaki Concours, but the local dealership made the deal too hard to pass up. I'll miss some of the features of the Kawi (heated grips, electric windscreen, traction control and abs). I believe I will love the F6B just as much.
I took a 125 mile jaunt today in the typical Nebraska wind and immediately ordered a MadStad 13" medium tint windscreen. After reading a great deal of the posts on the subject, I'm sure this will solve for the terrible wind noise at speed. Outside of the wind noise issue, I have no regrets with making the change to the F6B. I usually take a couple of longer trips each year (2,000-5,000 mile trips) so the comfort of the F6B, lack of any noticeable vibrations, and silky-smooth engine will be appreciated. I've been in Nebraska for 2 years now. Getting to any roads worth getting excited about means a minimum of a 6 hour ride to get there.
I'm looking forward to getting to know the new bike and gaining insight from other forum members.

Happy Riding,
Jeff

Yes... official now!

After you get a few thousand miles I'd be interested to hear your thoughts and comparison to your Kawi Concours.

I'll be sure to post a comparison once I put some miles on the F6B.

Welcome Jeff. I put a deposit on a 2014 Deluxe at the dealership in Springfield, MO. Hope to pick up at the end of the month and ride home. I'm selling my 2005 ST1300P. Like the Concours, the ST is a wonderful bike. I hope I enjoy the F6B that much more.

I've got less than 1K on mine. Once you get a proper windshield on it, you'll love it.

Congrats, Jeff! I'm another Nebraska F6B rider (I live in Papillion). I may have seen you on the road yesterday -- I spotted a red F6B on Hwy 370 as my dad and I were riding (that's the first one I've seen on the road so far, besides mine).

I went for the 2015 so I could get the cruise (and I LOVE the Matte Silver paint), but I came really close to pulling the trigger on a red leftover 2013 from Full Throttle in Council Bluffs... I went with the WindBender windshield (similar to the Madstad) to get rid of the same annoying wind noise/buffeting. Baker Hand Wings help calm the winds too. I'm happy with my new setup...

Hope to see you around on these boring Nebraska roads sometime!

Rick

Better make that 3... I can't say that Warren bought mine for me, but he certainly helped via the Berkshire stock I own...

Hey Necanefan and Riknchar you guys should meet us at Swine Dining in Bellevue Wednesday evening around 7pm. The local Goldwing chapter will be having their weekly dinner there. I've had nothing but compliments on my "B" from the club, but 3 of us together would just blow their minds!

Yes, that was me that you saw on 370. -I live just off 370, near 132nd. -I purchased the leftover 2013 from Full Throttle on Friday. -Perhaps we can meet up for a ride, since we live within just a few minutes of each other. -

If he was, I didn't get the memo. I guess I'd better do a better job at checking my emails for those alerts :icon_biggrin:

Hey guys,

If you haven't done so yet, please submit your bike to the VIN list: http://hondaf6b.com/showthread.php?27-VIN-List

If you don't want your VIN listed, maybe Phantom would agree to list you as K***** or something.

It's just cool to have a verified count of how many of us there are.
