53driver posted a thread a couple days ago about scraping pegs. Some conversation ensued about techniques in cornering. Thought I'd share this. I have been practicing many of these techniques for years They'll make you a better and safer rider.

Good stuff in there; I watched 30 minutes and will have to come back later for the rest.

I didn't realize the rear of the bike can RISE under hard acceleration; I'd expect it to squat down.

Ease out the clutch in first gear, with the front brake applied so you don't move, not fully out, and feel the rear end rise.

Ahhh...that helps; thanks!

Yes these principles apply to however you ride. The video does make points about getting through corners quicker. Those points and principles that get you through quicker do so because they are better and safer and work with the actual physics and mechanics of how a motorcycle operates. The SRs they talk about and knowing how to deal with those properly will be valuable in avoiding and reacting to panic situations.:icon_wink:

Interesting video - thanks Jimmy!
I too could only watch about a third..I'll get back to it.
(Siskel & Ebert note: I can do without all the drama, and I keep waiting for the "porn plot & music" to kick in....)

The smartest, best filmed, rider improvement video out there. I think I've watched it 30+ times and it never grows old.

You will have no problem... unless you will be on a small commuter jet; Vancouver,WA has no international airport.

So maybe in a few weeks you can share some brilliant photos of Vancouver, BC?

I think, this might be of interest to some. He's explaining it in simple words and even simple minded like me understand what he's saying :icon_biggrin:

That Jerry Palladino sure has a rare gift; a very smooth presenter.
