Been looking at drink holders for the upcoming trip, could not find a past post w/a consensus. Lots on the Goldwing board like the Butler ,plastic, black w/the (2) sizes of cups, but have issues w/the mount breaking.
I like the looks of the Kuryakyn stainless drink holder w/chrome mount. Any others to consider ? Thanks in advance.

I gave a nice one away because after spending $40.
I realized with wearing a full face,non flip up helmet,I really didn't have a use for one.:icon_biggrin:

Take a look at http://www.kuryakyn.com/products/4296/glove-box-cubby

I really like having my coffee cup close at hand and this works perfect.

Not to be a buzz kill on this thread but drinking anything and riding a motorcycle at the same time seems way too dangerous to me. Being thirsty while riding is just a good excuse to pull over, stretch your legs and enjoy your beverage. I'm a little surprised that it's not considered distracted driving by law enforcement.

I am considering this one, even though not Dot approved, don't wear a helmet anyway, you could put a couple of energy drinks in their and if it weren't for those pesky piss/gas stops, you could ride on forever.:yikes:

This can also be true when you are driving a car/truck while drinking something, smoking, reaching for something, eating and driving, talking even when you are doing it through a Bluetooth system, etc.
Distracted driving no matter what vehicle is distracted driving.

For the drink holder I use the one Ram makes. I use a touch lighter when I am going down the interstate cruise control works great to free up both hands. The cigarette doesn't last too long but it saves me a stop on the road

I have used several types as I like coffee and I travel long distances during the summer months. This is what I currently use. $19.95 for two. I use it because it holds cups of coffee even in paper cups nicely. I remove the clamp, take out the top allen head that holds the brake set up in place. I went to Lowes found a bolt that was same size and thread and bought a couple of different lengths. I also had an assortment of spacers to place on the bolt to make sure the holder stood upright. It fits nicely and holds coffee cups, small Powerades and 16 oz bottles of water. I did use a drill to counter sink the head of the bolt so it did not interfere with putting the drink in the holder. I live in Florida and during July and August I often take a bottle of water with me. Over the last few months I have found several insulated cups that also fit securely in the holder.

Must be nice to live somewhere that the heat doesn't dehydrate you before the tank is empty. I drink liquids while riding every 15 minutes. It's no more distractive then changing the radio channel or checking my mirrors? If you use a straw your eyes don't even need to leave the road. If I pulled over everytime I got thirsty I'd never make my destination. Granted -I wouldn't take a drink on the Dragon.:yikes:

I am seriously thinking about a camel pack system with the bite tube.

I have tried these under a jacket, no one can see it. However there were two things that I didn't like.

1. The water would get too warm too quick! Although it did feel good on my back.
2. Strap prevented good air flow around my upper torso.

Then it's time for siesta, or a proper establishment with a nitrogen based hops & barley beverage.

Which is all fine and dandy when you are riding alone or w/a bud or two but when you are riding w/a group of 12 and the group leader likes to ride 100 - 150 miles between stops, not so much.

This is the perfect setup, it's a post from another member here, simple, functional, and low cost.
You can use it for cold drinks, it also has a 12v connection to keep your coffee hot, perfect for the shorter trips where a Camelbak isn't required.
Mounts from the side, or the bottom, or to the handlebar.
I like the rear crash bar location, keeps the drink nearby, but doesn't obstruct your view.

Well I screwed up, nothing new, comes w/maturing. I ordered/got the Kuryakyn passenger drink Holder#1494. Not really what I wanted but what I got, opened her all up before noticing my mistake.
Lower pic is what I expected, top pic is what I have. Mounted it just to see how it would work for me, I can just reach down w/my left hand, grab the cup, take a drink and put it away. Not using any precious handle bar real estate and keeping it some what glean up their. Not sure yet whether I want to keep it chrome or paint it black to blend in. When it stops raining, I will move it outside and look at it from all angles. Thoughts, other than she is dirty.:icon_frown:
I still may order the one I wanted and see how I like it.

I originally thought I'd plasti dip it black, but the chrome blends beautifully with the pipes! Mounting it in the front bolt location and angling it back puts it in a PERFECT position; it's tucked away, it doesn't touch the bags, it's within easy reach of rider and passenger, and it doesn't interfere at all with rider or passenger.

It's PERFECT! I'm gonna order one for the other side :icon_mrgreen:
