Funny Story About A 1977 Goldwing & HD Dealer

Back in the day my buddy Harold went into our local HD dealership to purchase a Harley King Tour Box. The lady at the parts counter that afternoon was none other than Mrs Ruth the wife of the dealership. Asking Harold how she might help him and hearing he wanted a tour box she ask him what Harley model it was going on. Oh no Harold told her it's not a HD but a 1977 Goldwing. With that Mrs Ruth replied "nope won't fit a Honda" turned her back on him and walk away. You see back then and maybe even more so the Honda & Harley game was on. Mrs Ruth and Harold are both in heaven now and who knows maybe riding along side each other these days.

Reading some of the recent threads about installing the Harley boxes on our 6,s brought up this priceless memory for an old Jap rider like me. :lolup:

Some things are destined to remain the same. The interweb has made meeting Mrs Ruth a lil less likely to happen. But you still may need to answer the man when your GW stops in for lunch at the local HD hangout.
