I wanted to get a half helmet as our Summers can get as hot as Arizona.
My full face gets insanely hot and I about pass out.
I researched to no end and decided upon the Bell Rogue.
I like the flexibility of this helmet.
It also looks very cool (to me at least and that is all that matters).
I am going to be on a 400 + mile day ride Thursday,so I will be able to see first hand what I like and don't like about this helmet.
I will give a personal review of it after that.

I was really excited when that helmet came out. I bought it but it didn't fit me well. The front thing smashed my nose unless I tilted the helmet back. No vents either. But if you like it, cool!

Why did the mouth guard hit your nose?
Do you mean while riding and wearing it?
I don't understand.
Also being a half helmet,I don't see a need for vents.
Actually there are vents in the rear collar section.

My skull doesn't fit Bells. Tried several and all were just weird feeling.

Looks good on you though. Do you get a free bowl of soup?

Seriously it does look good. I wanted it when it came out.

Bell and my gourd are also not a good match. Scorpion and Shoei for me.

Plus one on the rogue I have one in the matte black and love it. I had to get the mask set right but after that it fit like a glove

Not to change the subject, but Rodney was great in Caddyshack. So, how do the sunglasses fit in the new hat? Any pressure spots?

"Any pressure spots?"

To my surprise,no.
Those are the over prescription glasses type sunglasses by the way.

The mask is supposed to go over your nose. That's why it comes with a winter nose breath guard. The glue holding the nose guard on also melted in the AZ heat. I still think it's a cool helmet but it didn't work for me. I sold it and got a Pit Boss. I just pull a neck gator over my face.

Thanks Bobby.
It is going back to the dealer today.
It will not adjust to where it is either hitting my nose or hanging down.
This sucks.
Oh well, better now then wearing it to the point I could not return it.

Doug

Oh no, I didn't mean for you to not like it. Now I feel bad for saying anything. I tried modifying mine to fit the way I thought it should but gave up. There is a slight adjustment on each side of the mask. Maybe you can get it to tilt correctly.

If you like it, that's all that matters. Sorry. :icon_frown:

Bobby,
Do not be sorry.
We tried every adjustment possible.
The muzzle either hit my nose or flopped down.
It would have drove me crazy,so thank you.

Doug

Ok. I had mine for a couple months and it drove me crazy. Sold it on Craigslist at a big loss.

I tried the Drifter but it didn't fit my head. The Pit Boss doesn't have vents either but the rear adjustment sold me. You can make it fit as tight as you want. Not as "cool" but functional.

The dealer had an HJC that had that adjustment.
The problem was the sides came down so far it sat on top of my ear.
I have another "bowl" style half helmet I will use until I can get something I like.

This HJC is a great helmet. It's also sold in HD stores plus $30. Very comfortable, and I like the lift up disappearing visor.

I had to have the front "mask" extended out almost all the way and tilted down to avoid it hitting my nose. With the breath guard, I removed the metal piece that is riveted on, which relieved some of the form to allow it to clear my nose a little bit.

Of course, all of this depends on the size of your nose so YMMV :)

If you like the Rogue look, Shark makes something similar. The goggles are attached.

Congrats on the HJC. I have owned a number of them--good product.

I already have a half helmet, but thought the versatility advertised on the Rogue would be worth having.
I changed directions when that did not work out and bought the. HJC open face.
HJC helmets never have failed me in any way.
I should have stuck with what works for me.
Luckily the dealer took the Rogue back for a full refund.

I have been looking at that helmet for about a week online, after reading all of the comments I have decided to pass. God endowed me with a rather large...well yeah my nose is good sized too. I don't think that would be a comfortable fit. I am hoping to go buy a new helmet this afternoon, I will get back to everyone with what I bought.
