Finally got my pipes and mounted them up. I will say that the job shouldn't have taken any more than an hour and a half start to finish, notice I said "SHOULDN'T HAVE".......five hours later.

The issue I ran into was the 2 tabs on the new pipe. They are not in the exact location as the stock pipes, probably off 1/4-1/2 inch. Getting the tabs on the pipe to line up with the slots on the heat shields was very challenging. I had to bend, squeeze, and contort the shields to match up and even after all that time and effort they don't line up exactly correct. There is a noticeable gap at the transition from the shield to the pipe, enough to bother a perfectionist like myself. I'm sure most people wouldn't mind the gap but I do. There is also a slight dimple in the front heat shield from having to basically force it on and install it under some pressure. If these tabs would have been lined up correctly like on the stock pipes this job would have been a breeze and the exhaust would have a cleaner more streamlined look without the gaps. Overall I am happy with the pipe and the sound is better than stock with a little sport bike rumble.

Did you install the torque loops as well?

Bummer about the gap, that would drive me nuts too.

How about some sound for us?

I had the same issues putting my Rush pipes on my bike. The tabs where not 100% accurate and turned a 1 hr job into a 3 hr job with a few cuss words to get them back on correctly. Your pipes look good.

Sorry you had the tab alignment problem. Mine went on without issue. Those surely do look good on your bike! The Daytona's don't seem to stick out behind the bags as far as my snakes.

Both sets look very nice.....I do like it when they go past the end of the bags a little.....still waiting to see if the Cobra's go past the bags......

I asked Jimmy to make mine shorter than the other pipes I had seen pictures of. Some of the pics of Daytona's were sticking way too far out for my taste. I also had him make me a custom baffle. Sounds ok, nothing like my V-twin of course.
