Just a quick introduction...

Been riding for about 2 years, after getting the bug on a summer trip to Chincoteague Island, VA, where we rented scooters. Came home and immediately spied a Honda Reflex 250 scooter for sale locally. After learning the ropes a bit on it, I bought a 2013 Honda Shadow Phantom in November of 13. Put about 10,500 miles on it in the past year and a half, including an 1,800 mile solo trip from south Georgia up through the mountains and ultimately, to Gettysburg. Anyhow...loved my little bike and the nimbleness of it, but wanted something bigger. First spied the F6B at a local bike show back in March, and wanted one. Hadn't thought much else about it until weekend before last (5/30)...my riding club & I stopped in at a new Honda shop about 50 miles from home in Tifton, GA. I sat on it and was immediately hooked. Long story short, I went back in 2 days later (Monday 6/1) and traded my Phantom for a 2015 Deluxe, flat gray (I have no clue what the technical name for the color is).

So far, I've only put about 300 miles on it, with 205 of those coming this past Saturday on a meet & eat ride some of us did. First impression...WOW! The power is just absurd! On my previous bike, passing a car took planning. Had to downshift, make sure I had plenty of clearance, etc. On this bike...ha! Just twist and hang on. On our ride Saturday, I had to test it a bit. After riding near the back of a pack of about 10 bikes doing 50 - 55...I hit a passing lane. A buddy (riding a 1500 wing) and I pulled out and opened them up. At 105 I let off, simply because the bike wasn't easing off accelerating at all. It scares me to think what it would do...but it sure is nice to know I have enough umph to actually get out of the way if I need to.

Anyhow...just wanted to introduce myself. See y'all around the forum.

Welcome aboard Nole!

It's good that you discovered the best bike so early in your riding career; some people don't find it for decades.

By the way I bought the same and its called Matte Silver, The Deluxe is just a kick to ride I like it better than my M109R Suzuki Boulevard which was a rocket sled on wheel and I think the 6 is faster. It definitely handles a lot better and I am starting to love this matte silver, nice looking ride, enjoy and Welcome to the mad housegrouphug

Matte Silver it is then. I went from flat black on my Phantom to another matte color. I washed my other bike once the whole time I owned it. I like those colors that don't show dirt as much as the shinys do.

BIGLRY...down here in the deep south, our season never ends either. I might hate our summer time temps, but wouldn't trade the winters for anything. :icon_cool:

Welcome from the mid-west. Good choice on the color, too. It's the fastest color, but I'll probably get some flack for saying that. Ha! Remember, it's easy to get "carried away" with the new found power. Ride her for awhile, before you get too crazy!

Only thing I would change is the orange lens turn signals. The Smoke ones with orange bulbs look so much better with the Matte Silver. It is a beautiful bike and the finish should be much better than my black 2013 with the ultra thin clear coat.

:yes:That was one of the mods on my Shadow...replaced the amber with smoked covers. Planning the same on this one.

Directly from Mother Honda "the coefficient drag across our matte finished bike have an increase of resistance at speeds greater than 100 miles per hour. If at that time you see a red blur go by you it must be our limited series Red bike which we made with the least coefficiant drag. After the US Air Force complained about the Red bike we discontinued maufacturing it for the slower Black models". Apparently, Red models were exceeding radar limits!"

I call Bullshyt. Is the stealth bomber red? Heck no! Everyone knows black is the fastest. Black Bikes don't turn Heads. They Inflict WHIPLASH!!!!!!! You red guys are so out of touch with reality. You think 50mph is fast. You may as well be on a scooter.

A few of my buddies have 750 Shadows and if you road those miles on that then you are in heaven now. Be careful out there. Your horse and buggy now has hyper space capability
