Does anyone know how many units were produced in 2013 and 2014. Just curious.

More than they could sell.:icon_laugh::biggthumpup: Mother Honda will never disclose how many they made just like the 2004/2005 Rune no one knows the true number, it is even hard to guess with so many different VIN numbers out there. IMO

Greg I think you'd have to be one helluva detective to gleen specific numbers, or you know an insider at Honda Corporate.

I think the best that we (the public) can do is see regional data from quarterly financial statements. Below is a summary from 2010 to 2015; I believe "motorcycles" includes all bikes and ATV's and UTV's (not 100 % sure on that). There may be other sources where these totals can be broken down a little more, but I couldn't point you to any.

I think it's real interesting to see that huge bump in units sold in 2013 and the continued increases into 2015 (note that these are fiscal years, not calendar). What other major event occurred in the Honda North American motorcycle world in 2013 other than the release of the F6? Idk the answer, but it's hard to believe that F6 sales didn't make a healthy contribution.

Is it depressing always seeing the negative side of things?

Not depressing at all, and not really seeing it as the negative side of things, in this case just an interesting fact. What's more interesting is how I seem to be drawn to things that don't appeal to the masses. That is the F6b.

Honda will NEVER tell.... the Rune had four units that started with the number 1.... they had a "1" for each color and the original...no telling how many they made... and honda ain't tellin.....

Correct, but my highly speculative guess is less than 5,000 each of the two years they were made, I've heard numbers like 2,500 each year, but then again just like my barber, only Honda knows for sure and they ain't telling:icon_lol:

On the Valkyrie site you can find how many were made each year and how many were made in your color combination and model. I don't know were this imformation came from.

Hey Jack, can you dig a little and see where those numbers came from? Or maybe link to a thread?

This kind of fits this thread...

Our delivery guy stopped at a Honda dealer today. Told the guy about me. They have a 2013 leftover brand new. Here's the deal...start to negotiate from $20,999. After whatever price we can settle at, Honda with give me a $2500.00 rebate. Now, I have a local deal available for a used one, from a guy here who will remain nameless...2013, 2200 plus miles, deluxe, $14,500 ( or so ).

Honda sounds like they want to wheel and deal to me.

Any input from the gallery on this?

I wouldn't offer more than $14500 on the new one. I would start at $13500. I mean 16s will be out in 3 months. When you drive it off the lot it is a used 3 year old bike.

Standard or Deluxe?
Actually, doesn't matter. Follow Shooter's advice, as that endstate is exactly correct.

Yeah I don't think standard or deluxe matters. I figured it was deluxe based on price.

I just bought a 2013 six weeks ago with that deal. 1400 is the best that I could find. Don't forget to add the the service fees or what ever they call it to get it out the door when negotiating.

Call surrounding dealers, you may be able to do better buy driving a little further.

Any new 2013 for anything under $15,000 o-t-d is a steal..considering what some of us paid back in 2013/14....As said above in just a few months it will be a 3 year old used bike!!!

Surrounding dealers are worse. One in Woonsocket, RI wanted 18,000 for a 2013 and they said firm at the time. This dealer is in the south part of the state. The burden I have is that I still can't negotiate. A lot depends on available money and I'm not financing. The used one is sweet too....deluxe, nice list of extras and the mileage is killer low. I'm leaning towards that, but again, I can't make the guy hold it for me. My lawyer was supposed to call today...of course I learned not to hold my breath. One bit of advice, Don't hire a lawyer who's also a politician. Politics come first. I should have thought that through, but my brother convinced me on this guy.

Thanks....hope I can do something soon.

Financing is part of the equation for a dealer; if they think they'll make interest from you they'll be more willing to cut the price. If you can, maybe try to negotiate a finance that is favorable to the dealer and ask for a lower price... and then pay it off at the first payment.

I'll have Sharon drive me down and I'll ride Black Beauty back to Mo. I'll hold it here till you come get it. Duke I'm gonna need a little gas money. $500 should do it. If you can, maybe try to negotiate a finance that is favorable to the dealer and ask for a lower price... and then pay it off at the first payment. You are correct, but I use a little different strategy when buying from a dealer. I negotiate the best price with them financing which usually gives me the lowest price.
Now once this is all on paper and if I like the OTD price... just before I sign on the dotted line I tell them "I have changed my mind and will pay cash"...so I get their lowest price, if they try and back out I'll walk away which I have never had to do.:icon_lol:
If I'm going to finance I always have it done before I go to the dealer keeping this info a secret from the dealer and use the same method as above when negotiating the final OTD price.
The only caveat to this scenario is if the dealer gives me a lower financing rate than I have preapproved in my pocket.:301:

Thanks for the leg work Stro, and thanks for the offer shooter. Very helpful info from everyone. Our driver told the guy it's a cash deal, so that might explain the $20,999 starting price. I wasn't going any more than the 14's anyway, no matter what. The used bike is right up the road from me too. I have many options and offers and not one red cent to take action with! It's coming, but so is another winter....I'm losing my mind.

Got mine OTD for about $14,400---$12,999 before all the stuff and .04%--- I am paying $53 total to finance $8000 for 36 months. That was a 13 standard bought in November of 14 with .01 mile. I had to drive 400 miles to get that deal.

On the other hand, The local dealer never has any and when I asked why, he said he sales them as soon as he can get them for full MSRP. If a salesman said it, then it has to be true---right????:icon_rolleyes:

I hate dealerships....the used one looks better and better each day, if it lasts. The dealer I bought my 9 off of just came in. He said he has Honda connections and could possibly get me a new one wholesale...another option maybe.

Shooter, when I was reading about your offer, the gas money cracked me up! You'd deserve it though. That new bike would have the same mileage as the used one up the road a bit from me by the time I got it, along with air fare and all....nice offer from a good friend!
