I know this is beat to death, but can anyone recommend the best way to convert my iTuens library to a format that will play on my USB stick input?

Can iTunes do the conversion within the program or do I need to buy a different program like https://www.dbpoweramp.com?

I think someone mentioned a gold wing program also.

Oh, and then what do you do when 90% of your iTunes library seems to be on the cloud instead of on your computer????

Clouds are not your friend. They are as secure as their most disgruntled employee.

Sorry, I gave up on iTunes years ago so I can't give any advice there.

dBPowerAmp Reference is a great tool. It allows you to batch convert your libraries. Start at night and pick it up in the morning. It is also the best ripper out there (check out JRiver Media Center for a PC music player).

I used dbPowerAmp Reference to transcode (sorry Bruce, not the same thing :icon_razz:) over 1,000 CDs overnight to a format and directory structure that would work in my wife's BMW.

iTunes *should* comvert to mp3 for you: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204310

As for the cloud... you'll have to have physical control of the music files so you can copy them locally onto the USB stick. Hopefully if you're using a music service they'll allow you to do that.

Thanks guys. I was able to download from the cloud all of my iTunes songs. That took most of yesterday as I have over 4,000 songs. Then I bought the dbpoweramp program. I had it years ago and forgot how good it is. So then I used it to do a batch conversion of the entire folder holding all my iTunes music to mp3. That took most of the night. I made the mistake of opening the new "converted music" folder that has all the new mp3 files and I clicked on the artist col at the top to resort them by artist instead of alpha numeric sort that it did by default. Now it is taking a couple of hours to resort. I will eventually get there. I just hope after I copy this folder onto the 32g stick, it will work!

FWIW, the F6B has limits on the number of files and folders so you may not be able to put them all into 1 folder. dbPowerAmp Reference has the ability to specify folder structure when doing the transcoding which may help (e.g. by artist, genre or album).

"... Honda USB music player will only recognize 255 songs in any folder ..."

Thanks for the info. I already converted all my iTunes into one folder. So I guess I will have to start creating a bunch of folders to break out all my music into.
