Here is my dilemma, I run the ISO black grips from Kuryakyn that go over the OEM heated grips and I love them. Now I want to add a Kuryakyn throttle boss palm rest. Kuryakyn makes three or four or more different models.
Here are ISO grips I have on my 6 now, model #6383, they have NO knurled end ring.
http://www.kuryakyn.com/azureFiles/kuryakyn/17868_kur_6383_tt_m_13_1350x900_RGB_72DPI.jpg.ashx ?w=648&h=432&mode=crop

This big pic shows the ISO grips with the knurled ring which my ISO grips do NOT have. I have a set of these in chrome the box for an H-D and thought I could just install the Boss, but the Boss will not fit on my model #6383 ISO grips and the Boss is a wide model which I really don't want(takes up to much of the grip).
https://maggroup.blob.core.windows.net/kuryakyn/19469_kur_6340_ob_m_4_1350x900_RGB_72DPI.jpg

This is the Contoured model and have been told it needs the knurled ring to work, but is not available in black and supposedly will not fit the model #6383 ISO grips I have
http://www.directcycleparts.com/images/ka6299throttleboss.jpg

This is the one I thought would work, but have been told it will not fit the model #6383 ISO I have...or...will it?
Kuryakyn ISO Throttle Boss - 6319.
http://img.jpcycles.com/product/502-528_A.jpg

same issues as the one above needs knurled ring and supposedly won't fit the stile I have, Kuryakyn Extended ISO Throttle Boss - 6242
http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/images/image_26386.jpg

So My ? is, has anyone put a Kuryakyn throttle Boss palm rest on the black ISO grips model #6383 for the OEM heated grips and if so did you have to use a knurled ring to make it work and was the Boss black or chrome?
I have an e-mail to Kuryakyn, but I ain't holding my breath waiting for a reply.:301:

Larry,
I know what you want, but if that is not an option could you use these?
I had them on my Yamahas and loved them.

DougThanks Doug, but I have probably 4 or 5 cramp busters setting on the shelf that I've accumulated through the years. I only want a Throttle Boss non-wide and nothing else, I have the "Go Cruse" on the ISOs and love it too.

Larry,
Here is what I put on:

3213

These are Kury's for heated grips and I remember talking to the person selling them (can't remember if it was our boy Rick or not) and they knew right away which Boss I needed.
I am 1107 miles away from her, so more pics are not possible for a bit.
The 6319 sounds familiar - I'll have to look at receipts.

Cheers,
Steve

Larry, I have the 6383 grips and put a 6242 extended throttle boss on, it's chrome. They didn't have it in black at the time. I also put on the 6339 end weights w/ black accent rings 6226. Had to order the 6219 long stainless ISO-screws F/ISO-Grip.
If your not in a hurry, you can look at mine when I'm there in Aug.

Thanks Steve, with your pic and a lot more investigation it looks like there are two in black, one is the shorter contoured throttle Boss #6319 and the longer #6318, both fit the #6383 black ISO Heated Grips, it looks like you have the longer #6318. I'm going to land line Kury in the AM to make sure I get the shorter one.

I definitely have the longer one.....I wanted that to avoid the hot spot on the base of my palm I got with a shorter one on my 98 Valk.
Happy hunting!

See ya in Aug.:icon_biggrin:

This has been so confusing so a e-mail to Gene.Vorwerk@kuryakyn.com and a follow up call to Gene at Kuryakyn has finally cleared the issue up for me.
There are only two throttle boss that will fit the #6383 black ISO Grips for the F6B heated grips. There is the #6314 which is black and is the longer one like 53driver has and the other is chrome #6242 and is the short one that I want, but Kuryakyn does not have the short #6242 in black (I'll paint the one I just ordered).

Larry, thank you for doing the leg-work. You may have cleared it up for me as well. Bought a black boss with my ISO Grips. The grips have been on for quite a while now, but for some reason I didn't think the boss would fit when I was installing them. Going to check out which p/n of the boss I have when I get home.

Here's mine...Works great. I don't even miss cruise control and I've ridden from So. Florida all the way through the Carolina's and such. Just rest my palm on it and go...
