I know not everyone likes Trikes, but some of us have no choice. I also know this isn't an F6B, but the guys who converted my F6B for me have started using Indian Motorcycles. This is their first completed conversation, and she's "In my view" a beauty 'all/right'

Gorgeous.

I'm fine with everyone having an opinion, but I'm sick of people saying they don't get or they hate trikes. If I were disabled, for whatever reason, I'd hop on a trike in a heartbeat.

Whatever it takes to ride!

I agree Bob, I have to ride a Trike due to my paralysis, but who wouldn't love the Indian Trike. The engineering, and history of that motorcycle brand would make you fall for it for sure :icon_biggrin:

I saw the new factory H-D trike on the highway. IMO it's the nicest looking trike I've seen. Just like that Indian it had rear fenders not some dune buggy like ice cream box rear end.

Why would they change over to Indian I wonder? Seems like a doomed venture.

OTOH Harley is wise manufacturing the trike themselves. There is a market for sure.

Unfortunately it is no more an Indian than I am a Doberman Pincher.
They are a glorified Polaris with the Indian name now.

Now here is what I would like to turn my F6B into.
The one in the picture needs a taller windshield and backrest (which I have) to finish off the gorgeous looks.
I don't have anything physically wrong with me and if I could afford it,I would convert mine in a minute.

I have never ridden a trike. Are there any advantages over the old school versions (rear 2 wheel) versus the CanAm versions (front 2 wheels) of the trikes ?

I like the look of the Indian, the color reminds me of some of the late 60's early 70's colors.

I could not do the Indian.
The rear trike conversion looks over sized for the bike to me.

I used to build VW trikes back in the day.
I also rode the very first Can Am Spyder brought into the United States on a VIP test ride invite.
The two wheel in the rear trikes made the front end feel like it was pushing in turns.(didn't want to turn and would at times skip)
The Can Am, two wheels in the front, made you feel like it was going to eject you off of it in the turns.

The main advantage is the old school trikes aren't ghey. There's a trike, and then there's a snowmobile with wheels. :duck:

With a Harley motor filled with cement to counterbalance? When I was young my neighbour had one set up like that. Dang that was one noisy bike! It always got my attention.

They have just started converting these bikes, but they can and will convert any type of motorcycle. They also did my Rune for me.

No Harley motor at all.
I will have to dig up a picture and post it.
I'm sure I have one somewhere.
I just never thought about taking pictures of my cars or toys back then.

There is a guy that visits the Rock Store in Malibu that built his own. It has a VW rear end, a corvair engine, a Harley front end and his own frame.

Here is a pic of me(26 years old) and my 1976 1835cc VW trike with a Root blower I built in 1976. Fiberglass body with 20 coats of lacquer paint, tube frame it has NO suspension. The front end is solid with no front brake and there is no rear suspension, it is all solid as a rock only suspension is the rubber in the tires. left foot clutch, gear shift by hand lower left side of frame just behind the fuel tank, One hell of a ride, I'd beat anyone on four wheels for a block.

Not being a cowboy I just had to get rid of the original gun-slinger seat. Mr. Russell custom made one for both me and wife.

Great Picture, takes me back to 1976, do we know where your Trike is now?Sadly no, after I traded it straight up for a 100% stock 62 hydra glide H-D the guy who got it disappeared off the earth to parts unknown.
The only reason I got rid of it was there was no way to have a passenger and my new bride wanted to ride.:301:

Just wondering what a current Harley shares with a 1940's Harley that the current Polaris/Victory Indian doesn't have?

Wasn't Harley also bought and sold several times over the decades? Weren't new plants build, new equipment bought?

They are pretty much the same. Absolutely not counter steering. Think of a four wheeler and you get the idea. My darling wife rides a Can-Am and it scares the hell outta me. I instinctively push the right handle bar to go right but end up going left. Again, just think of riding a 4 wheeler on the highway.
