Replaced the General Gmax with an Achilles ATR Sport 195/55-16 87V
Traction AA Temp A Treadwear 400

Gmax pulled with 17,177 miles, mostly high speed interstate. I received it used so who knows how many miles it had on it when I got it.
The Gmax performed well and confidence was always high in all types of weather;
rain, lots of it for many miles, some light snow and fahrenheit temps ranging from the low 30's to the 120's.

The tire already had miles on it from the previous owner ( he's unsure how many ) then he put 17K additional miles on. Total miles is actually unknown:shhh:

The majority of your wear from "high speed" inter-state driving produced a lot less outer edge scallop than my Max which was subjected to a lot of "cornering". You didn't mention as to what air pressure you were running??

With your inter-state driving you would be a good candidate for a Bridgestone Battlax as a front tire:icon_lol:

Some pics of my Max with 30,300 miles of wear!

bob109,
Due to the the weak side wall I was running the Gmax at 45-47psi. The last 7k was at 42psi.
80+ mph on ramps with expansion cracks would get the aft end quite squirrelly.

I ride lots of miles, mostly spirited and trust me, I have and still do hit my fair share of twistys;

I put 14,567 on the factory Bridgestone;
3248
I replaced that with a Dunlop Elite 3 that has 10,756 miles. It's my back and forth to work tire.
I have 15,880 miles on my BT-45 rear/front.

I'm just shy of 20K miles on the Ax. It has cupping on both sides off center but amazingly no vibration. I'll be into the side wear bars before the center ones. That duel compound (hard center/soft side) really produces some strange tire wear (direct opposite) of the OEM Stone. Should this tire be used on a Trike Application and not be subject to tire lean one could safely expect 28/30K miles of wear! I have another Ax on hand and will be "cross sectioning" the present Ax once it's removed. Not sure about you, but I believe the Ax is a better corner carver than the OEM Stone.

Ride Safe and May The Force Be With You:icon_biggrin:

Glad to hear it worked out for you! The Achilles looks a bit "rounder" on the edges.

That "REPLACEMENT TIRE MONITOR" is cool. More tires should have that.

Very nice! What psi did you run it at?
