The US Marines prevented a Euro blood bath at their own personal risk and expense.

Two of the American men who overpowered the gunman, Spencer Stone and Alek Skarlatos, are members of the Air Force and the National Guard respectively.

... but how many understand origin of the animosity toward France , as a former aggressor and Morocco occupier ? It's important to emphasize , that hate is the fruit of violence and injustice and can be held in victims minds for a long time. Unfortunately many thinks , that retaliation in any form can cure mutual odium . Since open battle has limitations , terrorism will remind us , that war doesn't end in formal , or political agreements . This can apply to all enemies , who are unable to forgive and forget . There is no formula of "submissive peace" , so wouldn't be better do not target others in the first place ?

"The French conquest of Morocco took place in 1911 in the aftermath of the Agadir Crisis, when Moroccan forces besieged the French-occupied city of Fez. Approximately one month later, French forces brought the siege to an end.

On 30 March 1912, Sultan Abdelhafid signed the Treaty of Fez, formally ceding Moroccan sovereignty to France, which established a protectorate.

On 17 April 1912, Moroccan infantrymen mutinied in the French garrison in Fez. The Moroccans were unable to take the city and were defeated by a French relief force. In late May 1912, Moroccan forces unsuccessfully attacked the enhanced French garrison at Fez. The last aftermath of the conquest of Morocco occurred in September 1912 when French colonial forces under Colonel Mangin defeated Moroccan resistance at the Battle of Sidi Bou Othman".

I got that-YOU brought up Algeria- I was wondering what your post was about; especially in light of the fact that the OP was nothing about Algeria, Morocco or Timbucktoo...it was about a group trained to run towards the threat. learning context wouldn't hurt.

Rick, you will have better luck talking to a wall. Save your oxygen. Great job Marines, Air Force or any soldiers of democracy and freedom as the OP was trying to celebrate. Death to all that will terrorize our way of life by targeting innocent civilians. Put on a uniform and come stick your nose in our profession.

Thanks . All those brutal acts around the world ( as we condemn and dis-aprove ) comes from the "Psychology of Liberation" , which have deeper roots in history of : oppressions , colonization , senseless killings , pre-empty wars , exploitation - so create counter effect , known as a retaliation syndrome . Don't ask me , how to prevent it ? The "killing gene" can be found in any person's motivated mind , transformed to the mental disorder , usually ended in bloody violence .

Again - Glory to Americans , who prevented further development of this terrorist attack !

15. The enemy invariably attacks on two occasions:
-when they're ready.
-when you're not.
