Realize this post falls nicely into the 'this post is useless without photos' box, but thought I'd share that a local dealer told me the other day that the 2016 models will be white. Here in my neck of the woods (Alberta) they expect to have them on the floor by November. Should look sharp with the blacked-out exhaust. Maybe not quite as sharp as the matte silver this year though. Still riding my VTX but hoping to pull the trigger this winter on a deal.

It'll be interesting to see the F6B in white.
Hey, don't you just call that 'camouflage' for most of the year up there in Alberta? :icon_wink:

Did he say 'Pearl' or 'Glare' white by any chance?

Looking forward to seeing white F6B. It will stick out here in SC. It should have a certain elegance to it.

He was on his computer looking up planned arrival of new bikes when he saw the 2016 listings -- unfortunately all he could tell me was "white." Will have to wait and see!

Good one! Believe it or not, we had snow flurries last week in the Rocky Mountain foothills. Today, it's a pleasant 25 C (77 Fahrenheit). All part of the fun living in this part of the Great White North. As for camo gear up here . . .

My local dealer painted a 2013 white in the first year of introduction. It was still for sale a year later. I thought it looked sharp but it really did resemble a police motorcycle though most of the police around my area now ride black Harleys.

Actually if you had ever mixed paint you would know that white has yellows and greens and reds and even black in it. None of the whites you see are pure white.

In the visible spectrum, white reflects light and is a presence of all colors, but black absorbs light and is an absence of color. Black can be defined as the visual impression experienced when no visible light reaches the eye and why when I ride a black scoot no one can see me and the ones who can are out to kill me:icon_doh:.

From a computer standpoint, pure white has no color until you start adding other colors including grays. The top (North pole) of the HSL Color Diamond is pure white, the bottom (South pole) is pure black. The vertical line between both poles are pure gray scale. The outermost circumference (equator) is pure color. Everything else is a mixture.

This 3D model is great for doing color conversions.

"Visible light, radio waves, x-rays and other types of radiation are all part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Visible light is electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths ranging from roughly 400 and 700 nanometers. In physics, a color is visible light with a specific wavelength. Black and white are not colors because they do not have specific wavelengths. Instead, white light contains all wavelengths of visible light. Black, on the other hand, is the absence of visible light.

Definitions of Black and White
The correspondence of a color to a specific wavelength is called spectral color. White and black are excluded from this definition because they do not have specific wavelengths. White is not defined as a color because it is the sum of all possible colors. Black is not defined as a color because it is the absence of light, and therefore color. In the visual art world, white and black may sometimes be defined as distinct colors. This is different from the concept of spectral color in physics.

Where Does White Light Come From?
When objects generate extreme amounts of heat, they produce radiation across the entire electromagnetic spectrum, including visible light. This process is called blackbody radiation. A blackbody is a theoretical object that absorbs all radiation. Consequently, it heats up and then emits radiation across all wavelengths. As real world objects become hotter, their behavior approaches that of a blackbody. This is why the light from the sun includes all colors of visible light; it is so hot that it behaves like a blackbody.

How Do We Experience Color?
When we see color, we experience light of that wavelength reflecting off an object or emitting from it. For example, when light from the sun shines on your blue t-shirt, the t-shirt absorbs all of the light other than the blue light. The t-shirt reflects the blue light and some of it reaches your eyes. Black is the absorption of all visible light. This is also why your black t-shirt is hot on a sunny day. All of the colors of visible light are absorbed into a black object, heating it up."

Guess I'm upgrading to a 2016 then! There was a custom 2013 white painted one in a local dealership here but they screwed me over on the price vs the trade in price that I felt I needed 3 showers afterwards to get all the slime off. Needless to say I went elsewhere. But I've always owned white vehicles (with exceptions to my bikes). Now I can get a white bike too!! :icon_mrgreen:

Maybe the grille covers could be white as well as the lower cowl.
Then add a set of whitewall tires?

I did like white on the full wings when I was riding out west , the bikes put out enough heat on there own , darker colors just add more , you haven't lived till you road a black wing in the desert 100' degree + weather ... LOL
I could do a white bike , I use to by black and dark green color vehicles but have been sticking to the lighter colors with the exception of the F6B I have right now .

I like silver but if you really want a color you can see I would think Yellow or the very fast Red bikes would have to be at the top of the list.

Did he say 'Pearl' or 'Glare' white by any chance?

So both the U.S. and Canadian Honda websites now have the 2016 model colours uploaded -- no info though on any changes to mechanicals but doubt there is likely to be any.

The white for 2016 is described as 'matte pearl glare white.' Also looks like the matte bullet silver hangs on for another year and the blue is gone. The white is available only in the deluxe model in the U.S. Up north we don't get deluxe models so it's either matte bullet silver or matte pearl glare white in standard format (although they do give us ABS on our models).

Here's a link to a photo for those interested.

The Honda web-site now shows upgrades to the front suspension on the 2016 Goldwings...Bullet on the info button says, after listening to customers, they "improved suspension settings" to make the bike ride and handle better???....Hope so as most rider mags all fault the outdated front suspension on the GW when compared to the BMW, Indian, and HD.....I did not see any changes for the F6B on the web-site, but some claim Honda changed the settings in 2013 on the 6 as it is lighter......
