:tissue: looks like we are going to have to sell the bike! some asshole specialist that my normal doctor sent me to has yanked my licence due to perceived health concerns. I've had two small TIA's (mini-strokes you completely recover from) in the last 5 years and am on a blood thinner diet. my REAL Doc never saw a problem with me driving but this dickwad (god complex) saw fit after just a 10 min interview to send a letter to the MOT (DMV) pulling my licence. (word to the wise...never tell your doctor EVERYTHING). SO......all that being said we are selling the bike. i'm sure i will get cleared to ride again but it's just a big piece of unfulfilled memories sitting in the driveway as of now.
the reason i'm posting this is to ask Ya'll what you think a black 2013 is worth with a mustang seat, Givi luggage rack, Scorpio alarm system, a zumo GPS and a 9" smoked windscreen and HID headlamps. if we rode it more than 6 times since buying it, i'd be surprised. it has had it's first oil change done and was stored at the Honda dealership we bought it at in Barrie, Ontario over the winter. any ideas you have are welcome. i know selling in the fall aint the best time of year but if we wait until next spring we're behind by another model year. I'll keep me eyes on this post, is it wise to leave one's email address here on the forum or wait for responses. so disappointed but hey....it is what it is.3368

Sorry to hear of your issues...A real "Bummer"...Hope you can get your license back one day and ride again...I am not sure what the market is like where you live but around here you would be lucky to get $13,000......Regards....

Don't sell it!

I have a question though. Did you buy this bike new and add the goodies or did you just buy it as is from the dealer within the last year?

Thanks

I just checked Nada prices and Kelly prices for fun and they suggest that a 2013 Deluxe with extras could bring $16,000 or more????...I would love that info to be accurate, but when new leftover 2013/14's are going for as low as $13,800 to $15,000 around here, I question their estimates!!

New 13 leftovers around me are bringing 16-17k. Man that sucks that a doctor can make a call and your a non-driver. In the states here you could be dead and still drive (most act like it) so long as you don't slump over.

Sorry your license got pulled. Sorry you have to sell the bike. But not sorry your doctor may have saved some other innocent persons life from a tragic traffic accident.

hey fellow F6'ers thanks for all the support. i wasn't looking for sympathy for sure....lol. my main "peeve" with the doc's knee jerk reaction is, what about someone with a pace-maker??? or a triple bypass surgery under their belt. if i felt that there was ANY realistic possibility that i could harm someone I'd hang up the helmet and get an e-bike. you folks down south of us canucks enjoy more freedoms from interference than we do. as a rider i ALWAYS am on the lookout for "the idiot" on the road. its not me i'm worried about, it's the dude texting, eating putting make up on, on the phone etc. not trying to start a controversy here. thanks again for letting me know where i stand as far a resale goes. it's very much appreciated and shows why this forum is a great place to exchange ides and such. :clap2:

I don't know how Canadian laws are but in the states if you don't have anymore TIA's for 6 months or more a person can get their license to drive back. So I would check on that up there and see what the laws are on it. I wouldn't sell the 6 just yet until you know for sure there is no hope of getting it back.
I would put some of that gas storage liquid in the gas and just go out every other month and start it up and let it warm up to temperature and work the brakes and if you have an area close to you that you can ride it off road like a parking lot just give it a little run from time to time, I wouldn't sell it just yet.

It's not easy just seeing the bike sitting there and not being able to ride it. My own health issues make it impossible to ride sometimes. Given the s**t weather around here the bike sometimes doesn't move for six or seven months. There are only two reasons I'd sell her, one if I died and my wife sells it, or I buy a new one. Can you appeal that Doctors decision? All the very best 'gw-smiley'

short version..... after i go through a zillion tests...and you wouldn't believe where somethings have been put:moon: i can have my doctor fill out a form saying i'm good to go. i'm not sure if it's a done deal after that or whether or not i can/have to appeal...yadda yadda. like i said be careful what you tell the doctors :icon_doh: sad thing is (ya i know i'm whining) no car = massive taxi bills working from home, we have two businesses. funny how much transportation fits into your life without really knowing how MUCH you rely on it. we live 25miles outside the city and commuting bike or car was something you took for granted. the only bright spot is that most of you guys are quoting USD not canuck funny money so at 30 cents on the dollar $13k =$17k or so. believe me it's not that i wanna sell and after all the encouragement from Ya'll it just might sit in storage for the winter and we'll go from there. thanks to all of you who responded, WHEN (positive thinking ) i get reinstated.....i'll let ya know!
