So to make a long story short, I did not fill up the 6 when I returned from Franklin. After riding around yesterday I noted the yellow idiot light on saying low fuel. Made a note of it then forgot it till later in the day. with about 240 miles on the trip indicator I filled up. I figured I had about 20 more miles.:shhh:

FYI- Gas was 2.03 where I filled up but down the road at 7 Eleven it broke the barrier! 1.99

Gas is good, pushing 840 pounds is bad!

With me on that would be over 1/2 ton.

I am looking for gas as soon as I hit a quarter of a tank. I don't especially trust fuel gauges on motorcycles...

I am looking at 160 miles on the trip-o-meter.

On my long trips I have found that the "low fuel" light starts to flicker around 240 miles and remains on around 255 miles. I go looking for fuel at the 200 mile mark and then it seems to take right at 4 gallons or so.

Most the time I stick 4.8-5.2 gallons in, usually around 150-170 miles, depends how many wheelies I do! :yikes: What your black bike can't do a wheelie!:catfight:

I also don't care to see how far mine will go before it runs out. I usually start looking 180-200 mile range. Usually when riding with a group someone will have to Pee long before fuel is needed. I make it a habit of topping off every station stop so I have no worries. When leading a Group I insist everyone tops off.........................Dickie
