Never wax. Lucas Slick Mist Detailer. Shines like crazy. Removes bugs. If you get it on the flat paint it doesn't leave residue. If you get it in the sides of the tires it makes them shine.

Plexus is great stuff, but since it has almost tripled in price, I am saving what I have left for use on my face shields. Protect All also works real good on the windshield as well as the painted plastic.

I use Liquid Glass followed by polishing with a foam attachment in my electric drill. I use Windex on the flat surfaces as it doesn't leave streaks. LG should not be allowed to dry on flat surfaces as it will gloss up, I wipe it off these during application. I am a card carrying member of the no chrome alliance of America.

Doesn't a can of Pledge furniture polish do the job?

If you have the 2013 crappy paint as I do only Liquid Glass gives you protection...Before crappy paint I used Spirit wax or Pledge...They do little to protect the soft paint........................Dickie

I got a special kit to clean and seal the matte paint. I don't think you are supposed to wax the matte paint.

If I do a Google search for "Liquid Glass paint protection", I get hits for lots of different products (all calling themselves "liquid glass") from lots of different manufacturers. Is there any particular brand of liquid glass that's recommended? Any chance of a link/URL?

Many thanks!

Autoglym paint cleaner, polish and Caranuba wax on my blue bike.
If I want to give her a birthday, then I'd use my 'Swissvax' detailing kit. Top of the line and bloody expensive but brilliant. I save it for my MG.

You can't wax a matte finish.

I use this to clean and seal it: https://www.duckyproducts.com/mattefinish.html

That gal must be a pretty good detailer, that car looks great. I like that it is made in the USA.

Liquid Glass is not a wax! It's a polymer which bonds to the paint:shhh: Clearly stated on the rear of the LG container is a little note. Should it have to be removed prior to any paint work you are to use 0000 steel wool and Mineral Spirits. Check your Meguiars container and see if there's a "like warning". The application method for the LG is to simply wipe it on (no circular motion like waxes). Leave it dry to a haze, preferably in the sun and wipe it off. The sun actually cures it! Try that with wax:shock:

According to Meguiars Web Site it is "New Polymer Technology" which Liquid Glass has been using for 30+ years:shhh:

Wax threads and oil threads will be like trying to convince someone to buy a Ford when they are die hard Chevy fans. It ultimately ends up in personal preference. I am not a professional detailer but I have driven and taken care of tractor trailer rigs for 40 plus years and have used every kind of wax there is. I have used the Meguiars in the sun and it works fine. Is it the best don't know. But for me it has always been one I have come back to after trying the others. Not trying to start a war here if I came off that way it wasn't intended. I like this forum way to much to do that. Al

No War! We have too much of that around us:icon_lol: Reading the specs, it appears both Meguires and Liquid Glass use the same polymer technology which is good for us consumers. Never gave it a try, but I will. Hell! I use "ZEP High Gloss Floor Wax" on my motorhome and it works wonders for the aged fiberglass. Makes the bus look like it was "clear coated":icon_lol:
