What's a slow race?
It's the opposite of a fast race :icon_wink:
A slow race is seeing who can navigate a course the slowest; without putting down a foot (or falling over).

I think those with car tires may have the advantage in the slow race. If I may be even so bold to say; some may even be able to stay stationary while astride a F6B with a rear car tire.

Its hard to keep an old dog on the porch and someone forgot to latch the gate! Now if Mother nature will cooperate I might even get rid of all this white stuff in my yard. Its long overdue to leave the area and let those motorcycles out of the garage.'gw-smiley'

Those that will be competing with a car tire on the rear will be required to inflate their tires with 60 lbs of air to match the rounded MC tires :icon_mrgreen:

We have 40 rooms blocked until August 01, 2016
$69.95 per room plus $5 for each additional person in a room.
We will have a tent on site once again.
After August 1st the rate will be $92

He's not your typical New Englander. Boy has good taste in Motorcycles. He used to ride a beautiful blue M109R. Just like mine. Then he switched to a B. Just like I did. He's looking smarter all the time.

But its sold now, traded in a on very nice ride, the Matte Silver F6B Deluxe and I have never been sorry, although both bikes had a way of putting a big grin on your face the B keeps it on your face longer that the M109R could.20836 the M109R was a rocket too and would definitely put a big big smile on your face.

To all you guys that are going I just came back from the Harrison AR area. Wife and I and three other couples riding in northwest AR for three days. I got a brochure from the Harrison Board of Tourism that had about 8 rides mapped out for you. We did three of them. I dragged three HD's through AR mountains for three days. It was fun and challenging. At the end of three days my ckicken strip was in the middle of my tire. Its gonna be a blast guys. In 47 years of riding , most awesome roads I've ever ridden on. Great Choice of Location by Phantom.

Is there a schedule for the rally yet? I have reservations for the hotel but with all the trips I have been on I don't know if I can go for the whole rally. I may need to arrive late or leave early and would like to plan in advance which would be the best way to cut it short.

Hello All,
Still a gut call regarding the weather but I just booked a ferry off the rock up here in the north east, hotels on that end for the get together in Russellville and a flight for the missus to get back home as she will burn up her two weeks vaca getting there and having a drink with you folk.

Still a gut call regarding the weather but I just booked a ferry off the rock up here in the north east, hotels on that end for the get together in Russellville and a flight for the missus to get back home as she will burn up her two weeks vaca getting there and having a drink with you folk.

Tink I'm sure HOR would be glad to sell you a pair of tires and install them. They are very accommodating. Probably couldn't get it done any cheaper and certainly not any better anywhere.

At least the rally is here in the Dirty South, I'd certainly need a translator if it was gonna be up north. They sure couldn't understand me when I was on my trip this summer. Every time I asked for tea, they'd want to bring me water and a tea bag. What in the holy hell is that? If I wanted to work for my tea, I'd have stayed at home. You can't trust a person what drinks hot tea. Ewwwwwwww.

Hey Lloydmoore,
North East coast between Grand Falls and Gander.
Planning on crossing the border at St Stephens/Calais. That would keep me a little south of Oromocto I think. More generally the plan is to head down the east coast, swing west somewhere around Boston and then south again somewhere around Indianapolis. Although I generally do up a road plan for these trips I am keeping this trip more open ended as I am willing to stop or speed up, or swing east or west as required to stay in better weather.
A cool fall outlook could cancel the whole trip as I don't like the idea of beating back up into the NE wiping frost of the bike in the morning. Having done it when I had to I tend to steer clear of it now that I don't have to if you know what I mean. If we have to give up on this trip we have some alternates in mind.
However any insight you might have from your TN trip would be appreciated. I worked a short stint in Louisville KN a few years back so did a little bit of beating around, KN, TN. There is one highway between Louisville and Nashville (may have been some part of 65) that I used that I remember as a road bumper to bumper with transport trucks. I would love not to get caught on that.....it was painful enough in an SUV.....I am pretty sure it would be a constant ass pucker on bike.
If I happen to head by Oromocto I will give you a heads up and thanks for reaching out.

Actually there is (sadly) a lot of truth in that statement. There is quite a contrast between northerners and southerners; when it come to friendliness to strangers. I've been all over the country (as many of you have) and the difference is quite palatable.
This is one of the many reasons why me and the wife are heading south in 10 years when she retires. We just don't know where to go as of yet.

I had lake property in Paris TN for about 20 years. Small town , about 7 or 8 thousand people. They had a courthouse square with benches. Bunch of 3 hundred year old trees for shade. Any Saturday morning you could eat at one of the cafe's and then sit in the square and visit. Even though I was a visitor , people would talk to you like they had known you for years. Yeah Will , its different.

Actually there is (sadly) a lot of truth in that statement. There is quite a contrast between northerners and southerners; when it come to friendliness to strangers. I've been all over the country (as many of you have) and the difference is quite palatable.
This is one of the many reasons why me and the wife are heading south in 10 years when she retires. We just don't know where to go as of yet.

All the motels are filling us as anticipated. Unfortunately, I just joined the forum and heard of this ride after getting back from a brief weekend trip to Mena and over the Talimena (sp?) Scenic Byway to Talihina, so I missed the hotel stuff.
HOWEVER, I jumped on the Best Western web site and learned that, as a Best Western member (got that "honor" bestowed on me when staying at the BW in Eureka Springs a few times), a member rate is only $76.46 a night for these nights, and they had rooms available. If you couldn't get in the room block, you can sign up and get this same rate. Cancellation is up to 6:00 PM the night before your first stay.
I have to leave on Friday, so my total for Tue, Wed and Thu nights is $260.34, including taxes. Just a heads-up as I couldn't get in the Fairfield or Hampton.

I am considering having a SMALL amount of black T-Shirts made with a new and very simple design for the rally. I have an artist working on it as we speak. It's hard to describe, however it will have grey wispy lines that create the top 3/4 shape of a F6B with the F6B logo underneath it. The F6B logo (or the F6B Riders.com logo) will be on the front left chest.
6oz Gildan 100% cotton is what I am planning to use.
Do I print 48, 60, 72 or 84? If we do this .. my preference is to sell them in PAIRS only for $45 at the Rally

I had a reservation at the hotel and cancelled it on Tuesday. Sorry for not letting you all know earlier but just maybe that room is still available.
Never had my name on the confirmed to go list because I know Tonys loves putting names on the list only to having to remove them. It was always a crap shoot for me to be there this year.

Just a thought for some of you...
Packing for your trip.
In the past some of us have packed half of our clothes in a box and shipped it to the hotel a week prior by UPS. Also include a return label in the box to send back the dirty clothes.

My fall sched is getting a bit crowded, mostly with wanta do stuff rather than gotta do but I am trying to figure out a way to fit it all in.
I could still show up in Russleville on motorcycle but it would be a rental Goldwing out of Nashville rather than running all the way down from the north east on the F6B. This saves me at minimum a couple weeks on the road (closer to three in reality and surprisingly about 30% of the cost of the original trip.
If I went with this plan would I have to park the wing in the back lot and stay in the far wing of the hotel or is everyone an equal opportunity biker?
With this thought in mind has anyone had any experience with Eagle Rider bike rentals?.....just in general conversation I understand they are good to deal with.
PHANTOM.....regarding T Shirts....if I can put this together I will be good for a couple.....an extra large and a small.

I'm bringing the saddlebag carpet templates, a marker and some heavy duty scissors. There is a Lowes 3 miles down the road from ground zero to buy your carpeting. If you want carpeted saddlebag mats you'll be able to get r done.

I may have to miss the rally this year because of other trips. I just found out about a work training trip to Denver. My daughter lives in Colorado Springs and I will get to spend a few days with her so don't feel to bad for me. I have also been to Panama City Beach four times this year and have plans for Thunder Beach in October. My wife is ready to divorce me if I go to the Rally. I never even told her I was planning on going because she hates everything about the bike. (I hope it is because she is worried about me)
I have reservations for the hotel and if anyone would like to take over my reservation let me know. I will have to make my decision very soon. I don't know if the hotel is sold out already or not. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I'm bringing the saddlebag carpet templates, a marker and some heavy duty scissors. There is a Lowes 3 miles down the road from ground zero to buy your carpeting. If you want carpeted saddlebag mats you'll be able to get r done.

Early arrivals on Tuesday afternoon September 20th, 2016
Ride Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Departure for most on Saturday morning September 24th, 2016
We will have multiple rides through the OZARKS
We will have a ride into the Bikes, Blues and BBQ Rally for some BBQ and visit some vendors
We will have an optional ride into Branson
We will have a Tech session at Honda of Russellville with their top technician (removal and install of Air filter).
We will have a short Self-Defense class by a former US Marine that currently teaches our Marines the course.
Hotel details, restaurants and actual rides will be posted at a later date.
Trying to find a Hotel that can accommodate 60-80 of us, is halfway decent and under $70 per night (plus tax)
Hope to see a large group

I guess it depends on what you think is bad? In the delta region of Arkansas they are very bad. So bad that it is almost impossible to get out after dark for anything unless you have huge amounts of OFF repellent all over you.
In the Arkansas River Valley it is mostly okay. In the evening after dark you might see one or two maybe, depending on where you are. There should not be a big problem in Russellville.

I'm excited to meet everyone aver share our passion for one amazing bike.
I thought this would be a good time to provide some helpful information and a little heads up stuff regarding riding in the Ozarks.
Fuel - There are no major service stations in the mountains. Actually, for the most part, there is no fuel. Jasper has a place with fuel, but with no pay at the pump it would take ages for a group to fuel up. I would suggest that it is very important to have your bike FULL OF FUEL before going into the Ozarks. There are a couple other places, but there are a limited number of pumps so for a large group it would be very time consuming.
Restrooms, etc. - There is an overlook on highway 7 approximately 30 miles north of the hotel with modern facilities. The store at Pelsor (on highway 7) has a restroom, but you will need to make a purchase to use the facility. There are facilities in a few of the small towns. But it is easy to ride 100 miles and not see anything.
Rural Area - In the Arkansas River Valley you will see considerable traffic at times, but once you get into the mountains there will be very little traffic. Especially in the mornings before noon. You will find the most traffic on highway 7. During the middle of the week, it is not unusual to ride 100 miles on some of the rural highways and not see anybody.
Safety - It goes without saying that it is VERY important for everyone to ride their own ride. Stay in your comfort zone!! The Ozarks has some great twisty roads with an abundance of 25 to 30 MPH curves that can be handled at speed. But it is easy to get into a false sense of security. Every so often there will be a tight decreasing radius curve that will bit you. The locals know where these are and are prepared for them. Highway 7 from Russellville to Jasper does not have anything to worry about in that department except for one curve going down into Jasper. But it is close to Jasper, so if your doing the posted speed limit there will be no problem.

+1 Monk. We attend BBB every year, and some of those curves can be tight. In particular, a couple on the Pig Trail & into Eureka Springs have a dip combined with a tight turn that is easy to bottom out on or overcook if you enter them too fast.
Good call on the fill-ups too. We typically stay south of Fayetteville. One of my buds used to ride a Sportster with a pea tank (oxymoron?), and I recall at least couple times when he was on vapors before we hit fuel. Doesn't help matters that the scenery is so beautiful that keeping an eye on gas levels is the last thing on your mind.
Glad there will be a couple locals present. I'm interested in finding out about a few twisties that I've not yet encountered.
