Truly waterproof gloves

Is there such a thing? I have yet to find a waterproof glove that will withstand a soaking rain...other than the neoprene scuba-type gloves...which offer no crash protection.

I reviewed the Revzilla comparison of waterproof gloves with prices below $100 to well above $200...and while I might be willing to spend that much on a truly waterproof glove, I would be sorely pi**ed to find my money wasted once again.

So who better to ask than you guys...who routinely ride through heavy rain for hours on end...what, if anything, have you found that really works?

i've been using these for two riding seasons. did 250 miles of rain from tres piedras, nm to cortez,co and my hands were bone dry. just did 150 miles in the rain 2 sundays ago and was also bone dry. not super insulated, but with the heated grips i actually like that they're not so bulky. i give them an A+.

I use bear grease on my leather hiking boots and I'm going to apply that to my leather gloves.

Been using it for 35 years.

I use a product called Hydrophane on my leather seat. It conditions the leather and waterproofs it too. I live in Horse country and it was recommended by local saddle makers. I also use it on my doe skin motorcycle gloves to waterproof them.

I have a pair of Tour Master Dri-Mesh gloves and have found them to be water proof for what little wet riding I do, but not insulated. the Tour Master gloves tend to run a little small in size imo, but then I have ham hocks for hands.

I have friends who will put on thin latex surgitical gloves under their regular gloves and they swear by it.

I, too have never found true waterproof gloves. Wilsons Leather makes som stuff that works well, but requires repeated treatments. Frog Toggs needs to get with it and make something

Road Gear H2o TEC gloves have been good and are light weight.

Thanks for all the replies! After reading them all, and continued reading of many more glove reviews on WebBikeWorld and elsewhere, I have concluded that a truly waterproof winter glove is just not to be had. So, taking the advice of others, I have decided to approach the glove issue the same way I approach my jacket and pants...as a system, not a stand-alone solution.

I have ordered the rain-off overmitts out of New Zealand, and will wear them over existing gloves.

Putting on the Rain-Off mitts seems to be a small price to pay versus riding several hundred miles (and hours) with cold, wet hands. I have done it many times, and it is miserable!

I will update this report after using the Rain-Offs. In the meantime, if anyone wishes to order a pair, please note the price is expressed in Australian dollars, and the actual price is less in U.S. dollars. I think my total was around $65.
