I was at Dallas Honda today and looked at the paint quality on a 2016 black and silver, great color combination by the way, full wing and the black on the fairing was already showing scratches. Same on a blue F6B a few bikes down the row. It is a shame Honda will not fix this issue on an otherwise great product  The clear coat on my 2012 red full wing was very soft and also was susceptible to scratches.

According to what I have heard and read, Honda has apparently developed and uses a one step painting process in all its plants worldwide...As a result the finish is softer and more susceptible to minor scratches, this includes their cars also, so I read, in a manufacturing journal somewhere....Don't know if this is the case for sure, but those that are supposedly in the know say it was done to save "huge bucks" for Honda and comply with American EPA "bullshit" and regulations.....I have no empirical evidence that this post is accurate and has the real facts....Ride safe

I don't know about the other colors but I can tell you the blue is a base/clear paint system. Taking the bike apart there are places that have a "dry looking" blue paint with no clear on it, no one step process could do that. I have found that hand applied polish does a good job of keeping the fine scratches under control. However I also have had Honda replace a panel under warranty for crappy paint work. My dealer was a great help in getting this done since Honda only has a 45 day cosmetic defect warranty.

Have had no issues with the paint on my 2015 Blue F6B but have only had it for two and half months and 6000 miles. Since I could not get Liquid Glass here in California nor find it in AZ or CO when there, I used ICE wax and sealant when new. We will see how that holds up..
