Dang Teach!! When have you got time to teach?! That's like 3 or 4 years for me. Somebody has got to work. In all seriousness glad you are enjoying the bike. I am kinda jealous though.

It's been an absolutely amazing journey.

I'm retired and only got 7 thousand miles on mine before the weather closed in on me and had to put it up for the winter here in Michigan. I picked mine up in late March this year. Also really bummed out about my childhood as I never had a teach look that nice while I was in school. All of mine were old and crusty, and mean as a snake.

I've done over 700 since I got mine this month, but I don't think I'll catch you! That's an amazing amount of riding in that time....certainly must qualify for the Iron Butt group.

I ride to work and then make the kids watch me ride in circles around the parking lot.

So that's where the miles came from!

Of course! That's why I teach. But I didn't get her until June 27 and I started back to work on July 27. That was a fun month.

Hi Teach! Just keeping in touch. My sister is a retired teacher and always complained about how busy she was. It's apparent that you know to get things done. Keep up the good work! And remember-Big C. visits in a couple weeks. Pick your goodies now and avoid the rush. Guns and gas!!

I mentor first-year teachers and the first thing I tell them is not to get in the habit of taking work home. No No No! You work to live, not live to work.

The second thing I tell them is "You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit."

And I get paid to do this?

First wife was a teacher. I watched her drag thousands of boxes if work home for 23 years. She never had time to do anything with the kids or myself. She spent 23 years sitting at the kitchen table doing school work. She rode with me one time. My current wife works in financial aid at the local junior college. She rides with me almost every week during the warmer months. She shares my love for riding. You're right Teach. They can't take all that work home. Its a killer for the marriage and home-life.

I was raising hell with a kid one day and he looked around and said, "Don't y'all think she's in a better mood when she rides her bike to school? Everyone who thinks she needs to ride her bike tomorrow, raise your hand."

All of them raised their hand. I busted out laughing.

And rode Sweet Georgia to school the next day.

If that had happened 45 years ago, that would have been me. Yea, I was "that kid". Truthfully, still that way. I got a lot older, but never grew up.

Dang Teach, is the hubby taking care of all the chores while you're racking those miles up?

That made me LOL.

I thought I rode alot, with 6k in 4 months, but man you are racking them up! I wonder what your mileage would be if you lived in Arizona? Would be hard to beat your pace anywhere!

Looks like you are getting your money's worth out of you F6..:yikes:..sure makes those miles easier when your riding something as comfortable and enjoyable as the F6B.....

As a retired teacher and coach for the last 10 years, I have averaged about 16,000 miles per year since retirement. Ride my motorcycles more miles than I drive my car each year..:icon_biggrin:..put the first 134 thousand miles on 2 Honda VTX1300s and last 16,500 miles on the 2013 F6B I bought in August of 2014...

Have fun...enjoy what the world offers...and thanks for helping teachers teach !!!!.notworthy.

Teacher and coach here also. Had the B for one year and have 12k on the clock. I can't ride much from Oct to March because I coach the varsity wrestling team. I also teach 3 classes of US History to 17 year olds and 3 classes of Criminal Justice to 14 year olds. Total of 178 kids in six classes.

Seldom use my truck during the summer when I am off and for the last 10 years I have taken at least one multi state trip in the summer. Retirement in a couple of years and the miles per year will go up then.

Teaching will consume you if you let it, have to be careful to balance your life with it.
