Rear portion of front fender:

I, like some others, have broken the rear portion of my front fender (2013b) part # 61103-mca-000-yk (black graphite). I found a replacement at cycle parts depot. $130.00 delivered. Phone number is 972-691-2043. I think the fender extension may have had something to do with the break.

On mine, I had to drill holes in the fender as part of the attachment process.... no issues...

I figured adding the belly pan would serve better purpose functionally. Have to clean the front of the motor but thats no biggie..

I have the extender and have had no problems. When I purchased the extender it came with some straps that mount to the inside of the OEM fender and attach to the extender........they add a stiffness to the fender and the extender so it doesn't move around.....works great keeping the crud off the front of the bike.

Ride Safe But Often!!

Been running a Fenda Extenda with no issues. Used an epoxy to fasten it onto the rear of the OEM fender.

My dealer installed an extender with bolts and it worked great till one of the bolts fell out. Took it off and at this time have not replaced it but I sure did like the look with it! My advice if you do put one on, don't use your bike for motocross.....

I used Fenda extenda on my previous bike a NC700 and it does make a difference in the dirt spash behind the front tire, but after hearing all the issues on the F6B I'm not sure I want to mess with this!

Been running a Fenda Extenda with no issues. Same here and with a weight of about 8 grams it puts no strain on the two push pin mounts with trim tape. I like how clean it keeps the front of the engine.

Did you attach the extra bracing as well? (or does Extenda not do that?)

Been thinking about doing one of these myself. But I'll use adhesive too. Bothers me to be drilling into things when it can be otherwise accomplished.

....sTNo the "Fenda Extenda" does not come with any extra bracing as there is no need for it. The "Fenda Extenda" is so light the two push pins and supplied 3M double sided trim tape does a fine job.
Yes, you do have to drill two holes to use the push pins, but no big deal IMHO.
Just put a strip of masking tape on the fender before drilling and remember to measure twice & drill once. I've had the "Fenda Extenda" on for about 15K miles with no issues and love the look and cleanliness it provides.

I too, had a front rear fender break on my last GL1800 with a fender extender.

I don't think the breakage was caused by any "strain" to the fender by the extender. Rather, I think, the extender makes the fender more vulnerable to potholes, road junk, etc. By extending the fender down another couple of inches, it is now that much closer to the road, and to anything you might hit or run over.

I can't prove this...just an opinion...but I no longer feel any big benefit is gained by these things. I still had to clean plenty of road gunk off my front cowl. IMO it's mainly an aesthetic choice.
