It's been crazy warm here, just waiting for the inevitable.
Looks like we might actually get a Winter that's only 3 months long this year, a true rarity.
We've had ice storms in late October to start our early winters.
Enjoy!

El Niņo at work perhaps? Usuall means a heavy snow winter for us up in the NE part of the continent and we have had a bit but it didn't stick around. Unfortunately the road salt has been in use for over a month so I have the B parked for the winter........lucky you folk that are still running.

This could be the last weekend, but still going strong here in Mass. No signs of snow for at least another week, but it is going to get colder.

We are likely to be pounded hard; by old man winter; in the January-March time frame. It's coming. Prepare thyselves... and enjoy the extended Indian summer here in the Northeast and elsewhere.

I spent many years on a route truck and only gets below freezing a few nights during the winter but there is the cold misty damp to put up with. However, it was much better than last winter. BTW, still interviewing on the space coast with hopes of being a Florida Rider soon.

It still seems like just a short time ago, I was taking this picture with my phone.

Was there last week doing interviews! My daughter was riding me around in her convertible, and it is the first time in my 60 years that I remember having to put on sunscreen in the middle of December! Can't wait!

Ugh, even when it's dry there are puddles of brine waiting to attack.

Been great in MO also. Took off Friday and rode to the recall. Little foggy but warm. We have been lucky with the weather this fall.

Rode around CT today with a friend from Old Saybrooke. Got to Naugatuck for lunch before we had to start back to beat the sunset. Love riding CT. Rt's 148,68,78 and 62 stood out today.

Got to do about 150 miles yesterday and today both. Very unusual for us but grateful for the opportunity. Temp about 63 which is 25 above average for us. Has been a good weekend! Was supposed to be 70 but didn't make it.

Ernie,
Do you have to put your bike up for the winter?

I made it out again today. Ended up on some really cool rural roads in SC between Calhoun Falls and McCormick. Beautiful and not a soul around. I'm at 16, 200 at 5 1/2 months. :)

Hey Georgia Peach! I try to keep my bikes ready to go just in case we get a good day. Really depends on the weather. Last winter we had 15 days in a row that never got above zero-not a comfortable ride. Jan. and Feb. are the worst. Temps in the 20's and 30's at best. Mostly ride the bagger because the shovelhead nor the hardtail have a windshield. Nov. and early Dec. were damp here. I'm only at 11400 so I have some catch-up to do come spring. Won't get too many more days before cold and snow hit so I'm trying to play while I can. Happy that you and all our friends down south have the chance to enjoy a longer season. Hope you get to make good use of it. P.S. Don't forget to send your wish list up north. He's waitin to here from you. Be safe.

Looks like 62 and sunny Christmas day up here. A nice am ride with light traffic, then visits in the afternoon....on the B of course. Crazy but I'll take it! 40's and 50's into January. It's gonna hit us, but when?

Yessir....even to live in some warmer spot called "Spring, Texas" sounds pretty good when the Nor Easters start howling up this way. However, making an attempt to understand mother earth makes it a little easier to put up with what she delivers on the bad days.

You're correct, it is earth going through a phase, but el nino is a big part of that phase this year. We get winters like this once every 5-8 years. I'm loving it.
