HID Ballast location?

G'Day everyone.
For those who have installed SoCal HID's, where did you mount the ballast?
I have viewed and used Cruiserguy's video but unsuccessfully. The HID ballasts foul the body work when turning the forks, and cables catch etc.
Thanks for any advice re this and best wishes all.

I installed a different kit, but used this SoCal HID install guide by Cruiseman. It worked for my F6B.

I put the wife's behind the instrument cluster, no weather or radiator heat. The grey strips keeps the box from making noise.

Good placement, a lot of work... I placed mine under the front part of the faring in some "holes" either side about the radiators ...no issues in 2 + years.

Steve it only takes about 10 minutes I did it so many times. I had a set of HID I took of the B because of the noise it put into the CB and gave them to a friend, he will never have a CB so no noise troubles for him.
