Looking to find an easy mount option for my Garmin on the F6B. I want it front and center, but realize it's difficult with this bike, so I've settled on the clutch mount option. I want it as far to the center as possible and found this mount:

http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-346U

But the bikes it is suitable for does NOT include the Goldwing, but I think I saw someone mention this is what they used. I have the auxillary power in my left cubby, so running the wire would work...just hand down and into the cubby, but it's a quick fix....need it done quickly. Only other issue I have is the micro usb end of the garmin 1490 doesn't like to stay in the gps. Thinking of using some glue to keep it there. Someday, I'll be able to afford the bike gps....tomtom 400 or the like, but now just need to use what I"m using in the car.

Can someone tell me if this can be used with our screw patterns so I can order it in time for a big ride on the 9th. THANKS!!

Lots of pics and info on this in our great "search" and advance search. Big cat 'gps center mount' fla_rider and my self....I mounted the ram ball top center on removable center cubby, use a swivel connector (double socket)and have all the adjustability I need. I posted pictures as well. Some have mounted like big at shows ( flicker Acc.) but says he didn't go that way...he used a shelf. Traveler uses a center mount too
Good luck

I ride with guy that has that mount on a FJR 1300. His gripe is with the heads of the screw stripping. I use the Garmon mount that uses the left clutch screw mount that is under that funny little cover.

I recommend this one from Motorcycle Larry. Com. I have it, and it is very finely made.

To answer your question, yes, I have the one you posted and it works just fine. That being said if I had seen the Motorcycle Larry version before I bought mine then I would have bought it instead.

There are many options for what you want. It all depends on what you like.

I originally put my Garmin on the handlebar RAM mount (seen in pic), then I found that I didn't like taking my eyes off the road. Also the lower it is the higher you have to tilt it to see it. SUNGLARE! So Higher is better.

My second choice was to use the puck on the shelf in front of the tachometer (also seen in pic), then the suction cup could be used on the shelf without a farkle shelf. This was ok but still a little too low.

My third choice was as close to my screen vent as possible dead center and eye level suctioned cup to the screen. Now, lot's of you have tried this and claim that the suction cup doesn't stick and falls off. I have corrected this issue in 2 ways. 1st, I use hair gel on the suction cup and when it dries it's like glue. Better than glue, because you can clean it off with water. 2nd I use a tether around the vent and thru the stem of the suction cup in case it lets go during a trip (seen in pic).

Here are the pics.

Here is what I did.

It's a ball mount about half way down the handlebar. Drilled a hole and attached with a nut. Have it there allows me to keep my left hand on the handlebar and manipulate the GPS with my thumb. Although I advise to pull over when doing a lot with th GPS.

Fbisnext use this mount. Remove the plastic cover and two bolts on the clutch reservoir [if you want it mounted left side].

Thanks for the picture zeus661

Hi,

I don/'t care for the slotted holes on the model you linked to. I, like others here, have purchased mine from Motorcycle Larry and i'm quite happy with the product. I like the reservoir mounts better than the aft-of-the clutch/brake-mounts for devices (iPhone/GPS/radar detector) as they place them forward and up in the line of site of the driver.

Experience tells us that glancing down to see who's calling will telepathically tell the deer in the bushes to dash across our path. Or something like that.
