have to say that the horn is probably not necessary, love the factory horn, probably the best factory installed horn I have ever come across.

Pretty sure that you'll want to add a different windshield to that list.

As young people say, "I know, RIGHT!?"
Man, I rode an ST1300 and the horn was just something that barely satisfied some DOT minimum decibel requirement. I was startled first time I pressed the horn button on the B.

MrJava, not so sure about the trunk as both the Honda and BikeMP3 capacities are 6.6 lbs. It was mentioned that it's probably such a low rating to cover their butts, (the companies), but I'm thinking it's because of the bolt locations. If the bolts were spread out further or if there was at least one additional bolt at the rear the rating would be much higher. The back part of the luggage rack is the lever and the rear set of standard screws are the fulcrum.
No matter what you do please post pics and results. Have a blast!

Seems to me the Goldwing would have been better for your needs...Why a trunk, floorboards, etc. etc...no need for a horn the one on the F6b is great....JMHO and to "each his own" as they say...Ride safe

I graduated from a Vaquero, too. F6B is a fantastic improvement. I originally thought I would want floorboards too, but I have now come to like the pegs. You might try them for a while, maybe get highway pegs instead. Many here got either Kuryakyn Ergo IIIs or Rivco. Windshield replacement is an absolute necessity. I also got the Ultimate King seat and I rave about it. Good luck and have fun!

I would fabricate a plate so the trunk attaches to the plate and the plate attaches to the rack.

It would seem that way. However I dont care for the looks of the GW trunk, and i do not believe it removable.
I had a bit of an issue when i test rode the 2013 with the shifter location. Maybe its different on a 2016. I will investigate this further.
As far as the horn goes, I want something that will snap their heads upright when the light changes, they start drooping when at a red light. Must be some weird Colorado disease....or they are texting...but they wouldnt do that?

Whats the consideration regarding the windshield? is their an option that might be better? Please let me know and ill consider it.

The stock windshield is fine in town but useless on the open road. After the snow melts, take your "B" out and get it up to highway speed... you'll see what I'm talking about. It's just not tall enough.
I have a Clearview on my '13 but also like the looks of Klock Werks. Lot of members use the Baggershield. There are many to choose from. Do a search on the forum for windshields. You will have to weigh the pros and cons of each, but bottom line is the stock shield is like not having one at all!

I used to live in Denver for over 23 years before the "legal pot" thing became reality...No way would I live there now with 1/2 the folks going "puff, puff, while driving....Just attended a funeral near Boulder for my brother-in-law last month and swear most of the drivers were "somewhere in space".....BTW, many shields are available for the 6, but I personally prefer the Baggershield....And, the shifter is in the same place on all GW1800 motors...no change but seems not a problem for most of the riders....You will get used to it...Ride safe

Just use this as a base for the trunk.

You will need larger spacers and screws tough (about 1/2 inch longer) specially if you want to install the Ultimate seat.

The Horn, the F6 horn is loud!
You do not need a different one.

My last bike(that I still have) is a yamaha roadstar 1700 that I built into a bagger. I have gotten quite fond of the floorboards for sure but honestly on the F6B I haven't found that I needed them. The riding position, once you get used to it, is much more natural and for me the wide pegs that come on the F6B are fine.

As for wanting a standard wing vs an f6, im with you 100% mrjava. Its your money spend it how you like. Sorry guys who have the standard wing, but the tour pack as super ugly, doesn't go with the bike at all, and not removable so for me the standard wing was out. The F6B ergos and styling fit my needs much better so that what I bought. I have a chopped pak on the way that I bought for less than $300. I will be able to remove it in less than 5 minutes and install it in the same time frame when my wife wants to ride or I'm taking a trip somewhere. Having the wraparound backrest for my wife makes her feel 10X more comfortable on the bike and with the chopped back she will have that. Versatility is what is lacking from a standard wing and Im really happy with my purchase so far.

Well gang,
It looks like i'm picking up a 2015 matte silver F6B Deluxe tomorrow :)
Thanks for the responses, and im looking into the klockworks windshield.
I will search the forums tonight, but another question to those that have had it for awhile...

Do you still like the klockworks shield? Would you do anything different now that you've had it awhile?

My "awhile" is nearly 2,000 miles....not long enough for a legitimate answer maybe, but I love it so far. Haven't been through summer heat yet, but I plan on riding tomorrow and Sunday and temps will max out around 50-52. I'm nearly 6' tall and feel the wind, but very tolerable and what I would expect riding a motorcycle.

Well, I've picked up the F6B Deluxe :) 2015 Matte Silver!
I ended up getting an Ultimate seat, Kuryakyn heated black grips, LED's and HID kit from SoCalMoto, JBL GX602 speakers.

All is fine and good...except for one minor upgrade that is still needed for me to test ALL systems....

It needs to quit SNOWING!!!!!

Ive also picked up a good used tourpack that i'm having vinyl wrapped in either matte silver or carbon fiber mix.

I'm with you on that thought... owning and operating/enjoying a motorcycle is so much more satisfying... without worrying about the cleanliness and constant maintenance of the chrome bits and pieces.

I have had the Kloclerks shield for about 18 months now, about 15,000 miles with it. I really like the shield, before the klockwerks I had a large touring shield from F4 customs, which is also a great shield, but at times with the F4 I would forget that I was on a motorcycle. I enjoy the air and the protection that the klockwerks provides.
