FWIW, J&M has new 3.0 Ohm direct factory replacement speakers that boast a 2.2 dB boost @ volume level 25 over the stock speakers.

Note: 3 dB is a doubling of power and 10 dB is a doubling in perceived sound level. 2 dB would sound @ 1/5 louder using the same amp.

Part number is FSPU-GL06-XT and they are @ $60 more then the previous FSPU-GL06 part that has been out of stock for 7 months.

They say they are 100% waterproof "from the front", but do not mention anything about the backs of the speakers.

From my understanding, they spec the speakers but do not make the speakers themselves (not unlike many accessory vendors which also may explain their intermittent supply).

Doesn't seem like much of an increase to me.

In their video, they say the stock speakers are clear to 25. Mine start to distort @ 17/18. Maybe there is a difference between the Goldwing and the F6B systems ?

+2 After researching on my upgrade I think it would be a waste of money to go this route. Not enough of a difference to coin out 75-80 bucks. I had ordered those speakers last fall before doing my homework and glad they were not available to puchase yet. Canceled my order and did a complete upgrade. Glad I did.

The new model has a MSRP of $160.

Some of the VAR's have them for $25 - $35 off MSRP.

A pair of Polk Audio MM651's MSRP for $250 can be had for the same street price.
