Bored... with a can of plasti dip.

Ever since I saw the color matched valve cover trim on the new goldwings, I never thought the chromed ones looked right on the f6b... The red Plasti Dip does match our red pretty good.

I know I have asked this before; but let us know if you see any "melting" of the Plasti-Dip on that part. I know the valve covers can get hot; especially during ambient summer temperatures.

I plan to Plasti-Dip mine as well (soon - keep putting it off) but am interested how well it stays adhered; especially with the heat and road contamination.

Well the part itself is plastic, and is only held on with double sided tape to begin with, so hoping heat won't be an issue.

How do you clean it (if you even clean it) to keep the Plasti-Dip from sloughing off? Just soap and water?

I've hit it with a power washer before.. It's pretty tough if you put enough on. I used 2 whole cans on the wheel

There are a few parts, such as the removable trunk mounts that I would like to color match.

There are a few parts, such as the removable trunk mounts that I would like to color match.

What I did was apply the PD and then paint over it. Auto paint stores make touch up aerosol (I use NAPA) can match the red easy. It is Isuzu Red--BRT Red-- For more info

This one want done with plasti dip...I did this with oven and grill paint...3794...works on the pipes too
