Have seen a few inquiries regarding tour packs as the HD guys call them, aka top box.
I recently bought a 13F6 in the fast color.
Really needed to figure out a back rest and some storage for my riding partner.
Could always do better on the next one, but for garage hack it came out ok.
I hope the pictures attached, if not I will try again.

Wow that's the most elegant adaptation I've seen on a F6B. Looks great.

You just push a button and pull the trunk off.
They do a great trunk.

I have been considering doing the very same thing, just haven't picked out my top box yet. Is that the Honda back rest mounted on the box? Also, what size box did you use that one looks pretty good.

I something similar with an inexpensive VIP Trunk but like the looks of yours.

Too bad that VIP didn't come in the faster Red!

They do sell them in Red, I just happened to have this one lying around. But then I would have to color match my luggage also ;)

Hows the quality on the VIP trunk...? I know there rather inexpensive but I found one for under $100.00, How much time does it take to put it on and off? Thanks, Fred

Here is the one I added. It's a GIVI with the Twisted Throttle rack.

What is the company name or link to the website for this? Did it come with the mounting plate? Thanks

It is an OK unit. It has very small lights that are pretty much useless unless you get the LED light bar. It just fits a full face helmet and locks with a key which is what I wanted. I made a small base plate and bolt it on in minutes when I need it for a trip or need a backrest for a passenger.

Looks like you are ready for your ride to Sturgis Dan. Let me know how you like the Mustang.

I used the Givi 47N, the 56 would not work for me to mount the back rest if I wanted to use the stock Honda pad.

Matt, I did this in my garage in about 2 hours. I used the stock back/butt rest and mounted it to a GIVI 47N trunk.
I could reposition the pad a little but this was my first try.
The trunk is about $250 from Revzilla and you probably have the back pad.
I cut a piece of plastic (cutting board) as a shim and got 4 new screws to pull everything together.

Well, I did it. Ordered a trunk box/back rest for my wife from http://www.t-motorsports.com/motorcycle-trunk-for-harley-honda-v-road-star-vulcan-shadow/
It was cheap in price , after S&H it was $62.50, got it delivered in 3 days. I used the original short (Stocked) back rest, removing the back plastic housing on the back and mounting the new trunk to that original piece. Had to make a bracket out of some steel fence connectors I got at Lowes for $10, painted it and mounted it. Turned out pretty darn nice, wife loves it.19402194031940419405

Thanks. I am very happy with the set-up. Everyone knows GIVI makes quality products, and I think this particular case looks good on the F6B.

What did you mount your tour pack too? Luggage rack?

There's a detachable bracket from Rricky Racks that would attach to the delux rack wondering how it would look with that trunk
