I know that you can send different parts to a certain company left unsaid that will customize there color with different patterns but I was wondering if anyone has just painted their meterpanel? Thought about doing this with a hammered style paint but thought that I would check in first.

Yes and yes. :icon_lol:

Hydro dipping might be what your looking for if you are looking for color and patterns.

Hey Bill,

I just finished doing my meter panel and am letting it set up for a few days before putting it back on. I basically just pulled it, removed the speaker inserts, removed the little captive rings holding the center in, then washed it with soap and water, dried it, wiped it down with some prep-spray wax and grease remover to get it ready, then scuffed it with a red scotchbrite pad followed a tack cloth wipe-down then some adhesion promoter (basically a clear primer), then rattle-canned on my color light coats (about 5 times). I let that sit about a day and then sprayed (rattle-can again) on a gloss clear over that with a flash coat, then applied 3 light coats, that's where I am right now...next will be polishing/buffing the clear and I'll install it back on when done.

It took me about an hour and a half to pull, prep and get the color on it. I used a Clear with UV protection since I like to ride for hours.

THAT is wicked. I love that.

I bet if Stepbill had this done in Woodland Green camouflage digital pattern; on the console of his OD Green G6B; it would most definitely be a sight to see.

Bill... you see this? :icon_cool:

They did not, however I have seen some of their work and it was very impressive. Lots of examples on their website.

That hydro-dipping is really cool stuff. It even sounds great. I wonder how they manage the holes in the speaker grills.
