Not warming up to the idea of going chrome free 'cold turkey'?

Don't mind a little glitter here and there?

Think a little more chrome, tastefully done, might look sharp on the F6B?

Willing to 'buck the trend'?

The GOT CHROME, WILL ROAM gang may be just your style!!!

Who's out there!?!?!

(Technically, I can't sign up for either group,,, I don't pick up my 6 for another 3-4 weeks!! LOL!!!)

Initial reactions appear to be that chrome on an F6B is about as popular as shampoo at a "Bald is Beautiful!!!" convention!!!!

I've been accused of being a Contrarian before, but this crowd is TOUGH!

LMAO!!!

I almost feel lucky (!?!?!) that I arranged for some paint 'on the front end' of ownership.

Chrome,,, Not planning on anything major, but I do think a few things could be done,,, I need my bike in my garage before I can determine  or  to any mod.

(Got my VIN today,,, 0496)

Hmmm,

Thinkin some Chrome Rad grilles might be a subtle way of adding some depth/definition to the 'sea of darkness' known as an F6B fairing,,,

They were available for Gen 1 Wings,,, Not seeing anything for Gen 2,,,

Anybody aware of any changes to the Rad systems on Gen 2? Fairing changes, yes, but wondering if Gen 1 grilles would work,,,

Kury is also coming out with more 'F6B' specific items,,, Some in black as well.

:shhh: Keep all this on the down-low, the posse might get ruffled if more chromers 'come out of the closet'!! :shhh:

After 10 chromed out Harley's, the F6B is quite refreshing. However, I am not a no chrome advocate. I like, at least on my red bike, some chrome down low on rhe motorcycle. If I had bought a black version, I might be in the other camp. Naw, probably still would have wanted a little chrome.

Not to worry Scotrod. It's only a matter of time before a vendor will promote a chrome thingy with sparkly lights, for your safety of course :icon_wink:, and voilá the NCP will disband and get all lathered up over chrome.:icon_lol: One cannot fight the Gold Wing DNA that runs through the F6B.

Yeppers, and once they remember how chrome makes ya go faster, the ACP will 'ditch the darkness'!!! :icon_lol:

Did some photo comparisons of the 1st Gen aftermarket Rad screens against an F6B with all the tupperware off. There is a mounting/bolt tab on the first Gen screens that has 'nowhere to nest' on the F6B. Looks like the F6B grilles attach/bolt on the forward part of the rad where the 1st Gens 'bolt' near the rearward portion.

Oh well, 2nd Gen stuff is still in the making,,,

And another thing....I still think chrome wheels would look great on a F6B. I am surprised Steve has not found a set already!

Yes…all true…I did have a deal set up about three months ago to trade out a set of chrome wheels from a 2012 GW…someone else made a better deal and the guy went with them…I lost interest and moved on deciding to keep my black wheels….. worked out OK..ordered black wheels with chrome caps for my Bushtec trailer…looks great !!!

If any else is thinking of this YOU have to keep your spacer on the brake side on the front wheel!!!

Contemplating getting an OEM rear wheel/tire,,, (reason being good prices, mainly)

Fronts OEM wings are harder to find.

Steve, you mention a spacer,,, is that due to "ABS" (or lack thereof)

Right on! It would look great with chrome wheels. All black with just some touches of chrome.
Maybe chrome lower exhaust covers and polished valve covers.
Too much black but I didn't buy it because of the looks.

Scotrod

Will most likely remove the wheel to do the full install. Maybe.

Biggest installation ~caveat~ I can see is they need to by tie wrapped on for 24 hrs at ~room temp~ before use. Its not the same 3M adhesive one uses for 'stick and go'. Slower bond, but stronger.

Think I paid about 85 for the set. IMHO, they look better on a black F6B wheel than they do on the OEM silver Wing wheels.
