I really don't know why they call this item a cruise control, But I want to buy a good throttle lock for mine. Has anyone else had this issue with mounting to there F6B?

I gave up trying and had a dealership do it. Found the dealer on the factory website. Cost me $70. Works well when installed correctly, but it took the installer more time to fiddle with the adjustments than to mount it. Tells me that its not as simple as it looks.

I installed this "cruise control", but if I remember correctly the piece holding the "L" bracket that is supposed to fasten to the brake pivot bolt has to be disconnected and rotated 180 degrees so that the bolt holding the "L" bracket is on the lower side of the block as opposed to the upper side. When the bolt is on the upper side the "L" bracket hits the brake at an angle, and there is not enough thread on the brake pivot bolt to secure the nut. Even if there was more thread on the bolt, because the "L" bracket is at an angle it will never fit properly. Once installed, it works very well. Hope it works out for you.

Look at the picture at 1:01 in your message. It shows a bracket with a slot attached to the main mechanism, with a bolt in the end holding the "L" bracket. Disconnect the slotted bracket from the main mechanism, rotate it 180 degrees so the bolt in the end is now on the lower side, rotate the "L" bracket and then see if it will attach to the brake pivot bolt. See the attached photo - the "L" bracket bolt is now on the lower side of the block. It's not dramatic, but enough to make it work on my unit.

I made that video and after trying 3 times to contact Brakeaway, with no response, I sent it back. Bought a KAOKO Throttle Lock for half the price, 1/4 the time to install and did a 6,000 mile roundtrip and it worked flawlessly.

I installed the Break-a-way throttle lock on my F6B. I also had it on my VTX1300 and it works great and did not have an issue installing it. Just take your time and follow the instructions. You'll love the quick release with either the thumb or brake lever!
